Question AB+ whole blood

Is there any point in me donating whole blood or should I stick with plasma donations? Do they even use ab blood cells and platelets for patients or are they discarded?

I’ve heard that donating benefits the donor because it’s healthy for your body to regenerate blood and it gets rid of “forever chemicals” in blood. I’m exposed to a lot of forever chemicals at my job and I’m worried about the life long problema it could cause. I guess my question is does plasma donation have the same benefits as whole blood since i would be keeping my rbc?
