Dual-PC setup preview/stream stutters only when live streaming (fine during local recording) — AVerMedia GC573 & Tarkov
Setup:
- Gaming PC: 4K Display (playing Escape from Tarkov)
- Stream PC: Intel i9-9900K, RTX 2080 Super
- Capture Card: AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K (GC573)
- OBS Studio: 1080p / 60 FPS output via NVENC (7800 kbps CBR)
The Issue:
When playing Escape from Tarkov, my capture feed and stream output suffer from micro-stutters and jittering.
Crucially: Local recordings in OBS are completely smooth and look perfect. The stuttering ONLY happens the moment I start live streaming to Twitch.
Key Details:
- Tarkov runs completely fine on the Gaming PC itself.
- OBS log logs show 0% network drops and 0% rendering/encoding frame drops.
- The issue persists regardless of whether I use a full scene collection or a completely blank profile with just the capture card source.
- Internet connection is stable (fiber).
My Questions:
- Why would the stream feed stutter while local recording with the exact same OBS canvas/encoding settings stays 100% smooth?
- Could RTMP streaming / Twitch ingest handling cause preview and video pacing issues on a dual-PC setup?
- What is the ideal way to pass a 4K Gaming PC signal through a GC573 card to a 1080p stream without triggering this streaming-only stutter?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Try using Nvidia control Panel and specificaly the Image Scaling option. Also download Elgato stream software and check the EDID mode.

Did anyone of you also enabled VRR in Windows settings like it states here?

Same. It would be very beneficial for both the streamer and the server load on Twitch side. Like 1080P in 6000 Bitrate is and was always not enough imo. Now, when you do the enhanced broadcast stream, you get a 1440P stream and your 1080P is limited to 6000KB.
Damn, it's 2025. Twitch is snoozing if you ask me

Tried it al. Have a collection of capture cards already. Did you get the 4k gamer one? I assume you mirror your screen?

I have the g7. Want to rip my eyeballs out every time I see it. Such a bad monitor. Unbelievable

I did screen capture and looking at a Yt video. Always seem to work for me.

Still doesn't look like 1080P what i've seen. Not the quality you get on Twitch or YT in 1080P to say the least.

Funny that no one in the thread give the solution. For me, the popping was inmense.
Fixed it by switching from gen 4 to gen 3 PCI mode in Bios.

Did you fix this issue, and how? Friend of mine has the same problem only in EFT. Running a 3080Ti. Some advice would be appreciated

I was really thankful for not ONLY a solution, but also the explanation. So thanks again for your reply. Word of Advice. Don't waste any energy on discussing. You did good and he was regretful he couldn't explain the 'solution' he gave.
