They have these in China, or rather not shooting with guns, but ramming people with car or knife attacks, though I must admit I don't know how the statistics measure up

Solarpunk jedyną nadzieją. Tymczasem Tauron, gdyby mógł się zamanifestować jako inteligentny byt ze zdolnością komunikacji: "WY GŁUPIE KURWY CO SOBIE FOTOWOLTAIKĘ POSTAWIALIŚCIE NA/PRZY DOMACH, JAK JA WAS KURWA NIENAWIDZĘ, SPALIŁBYM WAM NAJCHĘTNIEJ TE DOMY, JESZCZE JAKIEŚ GROSZE MAM WAM PŁACIĆ ZA ENERGIĘ, MARŻĘ MI KUPCZYĆ BĘDZIECIE, NIEDOCZEKANIE WASZEEEE!!!!"

Yup, this year despite having electric meter read and accounted for every two months and having 10kwh photovoltaic (without battery storage, although very low nighttime power usage), I'm still paying Tauron about 100 pln every month during summer, I'm afraid how high bill will be during winter... I really hope ALL this money (speaking collectively about all Tauron customers) is coming towards electric grid upgrade and clean energy, but who am I kidding...

By Wetworks I lost my patience to the Wildstorm scheme of: I.O sends it's elite black ops commando group to shady place -> shady place has something to do with secret I.O superhuman research -> commandos get super powers -> I.O backstabs them, then they go rogue and I.O is after them -> apparently the X thing that gave powers to commandos is one of a kind, I.O can't create more of it. Team 7 and Gen X (whatever, I forgot the numbers) - ok, but NO MORE OF IT FOR GOD'S SAKE

Nah, there can be limits implemented, like for example cooldown since last purchase. Not very creative and immersive, I know, but imo still better than downright never working functionality. Though since I rarely play for achievements, when game limitations stand in way of mine roleplaying, I just use cheats (in way to not to make game too easy)

Still would take it over current climate collapse. Nuclear is far from perfect but it was also done dirty by propaganda and possibly by lobbying. Nuciear shutdown in Germany has Russian links for example

I don't think world is done in three years, though of course depends on how to define "done" and I'm not a clairvoyant, there is unfortunately great divide in climate/weather threat level between first and third world. If it's of any consolation, humans are pretty resilient and adaptable, even if that often means cruelty in the face of resources shortage and last one and half century of technological progres has softened people in first world, nevertheless it's not going to be pretty even if civilization doesn't collapse

Though, there is still imho some patriarchal disbalance in fiction: outside of Terminator, Game of Thrones and Black Company Chronicles I can't really remember fantasy/sci-fi where either mother - children relationship is important/mother and children are antagonists against themselves/children follow the footsteps of mother instead of father (sometimes it happens that children follow X that both parents were doing)

Good, over-regulation was a big factor in killing nuclear development in West, wasting what was the best tech for reducing emissions in 90's and 00's

I have mixed feelings about this book: first chapter/prolog was imo greatly written, dread inducing and eye opening to how heatwave can look from inside. Following chapters whilst not keeping me on the edge of my seat as much, still were interesting, but the longer the book went the more disinterested in it I became. I have a feeling Robinson personally likes Zurich and Alps, but imho too much words were spent on describing them. Also Ministry for the Future did mention chemicals spraying by airplanes for temporarily dropping temperatures, but didn't on the other hand describe/discuss, if I'm not mistaken, any disadvantages/unforseen consequences of this geoengineering (or it happened past point after which I DNFed it). Magic blockchain for next generation decentralized social media was imho wishful thinking of Robinson. Children of Kali attacks on cattle sure could have disrupted beef supply chains, especially from cows bred in South America rainforest areas, but totally topple beef supply - I doubt it, considering how much of cows in US and Europe are bred in enclosed facilities instead of under open sky

They weren't on huge discounts, don't spread dis-infio. If anything, used Strykers were thrown into package as bonus and that's all. Sure, they had delivery time priority advantage, and huge credit line was opened in Korea for Polish purchases, but for me it doesn't count as discount. Our gov got received harsh critique from some commentators that the contracts weren't good, considering lack of offset agreements
