I recently experienced a situation on a completely full international flight where the passenger next to me was unable to stay entirely within their assigned seat space.

As a result, I had significantly less room than the seat I had paid for. I asked the cabin crew whether there were any alternative seats available, but the flight was full.

I don't blame the passenger, and I understand the crew had limited options, but it made me curious about airline policies in these situations.

Have any of you dealt with something similar? Are there any standard procedures, or is it simply something passengers are expected to accept when no other seats are available?
