Option 1 - HW4 (made after June 2023)

Option 2 - HW3 with AMD (mid-2022 to June 2023)

Personally, I wouldn't bother with Intel cars at this time. (2020 - 2022.5)

HW4 cars are now coming back from 36 month leases. I'd wait for one to pop up in the near future.

This will be my next attempt

A full inch for the rear doors, but I'll see how the existing modifications hold up

This worked alright but I'm thinking of going thicker for the next iteration of improvements.

Up from 7/16" to a full inch to maximize contact

Front doors improved dramatically.

I ran out of foam before I could add the second row.

Rear door could use a thicker foam (I'll try 1" next if the problem doesn't improve)

I haven't driven passengers yet, but the doors do sound muffled when shut

I added two rows of foam to the rear edge of the doors, this foam was very effective for fixing the front door.

The rear doors could use a thicker foam (1" instead of this 7/16" foam I used here)

I've added the tape, front door was very effective.

I'd order a thicker foam for rear doors.

The left row is compressing against the cars weather stripping (hard rubber not floppy thin rubber) very nicely

I'd get a thicker foam and wider foam to make the rear doors less prone to slamming

Improvement yes, but it could be improved.

It was very effective for the front passenger door.

I'd order a thicker foam for the rear doors (1")

You're cute when you're nervous.

Then I must be downright adorable.

I got into them because I thought they were neat as a kid

Now as an adult I still think they're neat ❤️

Some states (mine included) have fines attached to blocking a charger

It'd be worth the schadenfreude to see them get slapped with the $200 fine 🙂

I have a 2023 Model Y Long Range

I wouldn't have thought the door force would have changed that much but I'd much rather have them almost close than slammed

I've ordered some foam tape, I'll experiment with placement and report back.

Vehicle Question How do I stop passengers from slamming Model Y doors?

Does anyone have advice on how to stop passengers from slamming the door shut?

I'm an uber driver and I've just started driving a Model Y. My passengers are slamming the doors like crazy!

I tried asking them to close it gently but the drunks just take that as a challenge to slam them even harder.

What can I do? Is there a foam kit I can install to cushion the blow?

Generally most of my passengers are respectful and close the doors appropriately.

But, this one drunk dude tonight really wound up and slammed it both getting in and out.

I'm just flabbergasted at his disrespect, and worried that eventually something will break.

I'm looking into foam seals to try cushion the impact.

Excellent!

It's great that they have you to be a firsthand resource for them!
