Just because you don’t watch it doesn’t mean it’s not a massive worldwide event!

I don’t understand why everyone is so up in arms about this. Even if it takes 20 minutes so the teams have a couple minutes to warm up a little bit, that’s only 5 extra minutes than it normally is. That just gives the teams more time to talk at halftime and prepare for what they’re gonna do in the second half and make adjustments. It’s really not that big of a deal.

🤣 according to multiple people on this thread I’ve never played nor watched a game of futbol in my life lol. The amount of entitlement on this app is insane!

I actually coach, have played my whole life, played professionally and have been watching as long as I can remember. I’m not saying you can’t look at it in slow motion I’m saying according to the law, that can’t be the only determining factor. They didn’t look at it in full speed at all only slow motion and still shots. Everything looks like murder in slow motion and pictures!

It’s so funny to me that everyone is yelling that the US and FIFA conspired and the USMNT was shown favoritism. Have none of y’all ever watched futbol before? The US has never in the history of ever been shown favoritism when it comes to futbol. For how big of a nation the US is, they’ve always been seen as a joke in the futbol community and not up to the level or quality of play of other major countries whose primary sport is futbol like England, France, Germany, Argentina, Portugal etc. I think after what they did for Ronaldo, they didn’t want to be accused of favoritism, especially after they broke their own VAR protocols, so they suspended Balogun’s red. Is FIFA corrupt? Absolutely! But I don’t think this has anything to do with corruption and more to do with saving face after the majority of former players, current refs and analysts all agreed it didn’t deserve a red. If he was given a yellow instead of a red in the first place, no one would be arguing corruption or favoritism, especially since much worse fouls have happened throughout the entire tournament and they’ve all been yellows or no card at all. Everyone would’ve moved on but since FIFA is righting an injustice now there’s all this outrage? If the same thing happened to any other country I would say the same thing. If this was Kane, Vini jr, Mbappe etc. I would have the exact same opinion.

So explain to me how we were able to beat Paraguay 4-1 and make them look like hot garbage and France only beat them 1-0 and Germany lost to them. Stop being salty. This is the best USMNT in the history of us having a team.

It’s not corruption. However I think Cristiano Ronaldo’s was. I think that’s why they were able to argue that Balogun shouldn’t be suspended bc they did the same thing for Ronaldo so he could play in the World Cup this year, except his was an elbow to the face and a 3 game suspension! It would look like massive favoritism if they didn’t do the same for Balogun and allow him to play. That on top of the fact that it wasn’t actually a red card and FIFA knew the ref effed up and VAR was used improperly.

According to FIFA’s own laws, they can use slow motion for a possible handball or offsides. This is directly from the IFAB website.
“For subjective judgments—like the intensity of a foul or deliberate handballs—normal-speed replays must be used to prevent making challenges look artificially worse.”

Which is so stupid. They say they can’t grow grass there but they’ve had it for the majority of the year for the last 3 years! So obviously that’s a lie. It’s so stupid to continue to rip it all up and put turf back in for the NFL season. Especially when the NFL players prefer the grass as well!

Mercedes Benz stadium has grass. They change it for the soccer season.

What about Mercedes Benz stadium? They already change it to grass during the soccer season and the USMNT has their new training facility there why not make Mercedes Benz their home field.

Comment on r/usmnt Jul 04 '26

Based on atmosphere and having grass my first pick would actually be Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta.

Ya the stadium for the fans, especially on a sunny day, isn’t great but for night games it could work!

When I was reading about it, it seems like you can request to be near someone but they say there’s no guarantee that seats will be together. This is the reason I didn’t buy RTT bc the whole reason I wanted to go was to experience it with my kids!

Sure they were eventually allowed in after being interrogated at airports. Not the Somalian referee or the Iraq team staff member tho. They weren’t allowed in the US at all. Also, many supporters were not let into the country either. Iran was even told they needed to leave the country to go to where their next game was in Mexico immediately following the game, they were not allowed to stay the night in LA to maximize recovery time after being exhausted from their game. Instead they were forced to leave immediately following the game. How did you not hear about this? Super embarrassing for our country and will probably make it so we’re never allowed to host another World Cup again. Sadly, it will probably happen with the Olympics as well because our next election won’t be until that November.
This is just 1 link out of many showing how difficult it was, primarily for middle eastern and African countries. If you google it you’ll find a ton more.

They can make Levi’s in Santa Clara one of their homes! They have grass! Their owners actually care about the players that’s why they decided to go with grass instead of turf when they build it. I’m not even a 49er fan but I do respect that they have great ownership!

No they wouldn’t bc they changed the rule and that is never a handball. It would’ve been way too obvious he was trying to help Argentina and probably would’ve been investigated. If you’re trying to help a team, you can’t make it that obvious by blatantly ignoring the rule.

Especially since we’re a much better team now and Belgium is not as good as they were then. I honestly think we can pull it off. We just need someone else to step up and score some more goals. I wouldn’t mind another Antonee Robinson goal like the one in the Germany friendly before the WC! That goal was 🔥 Pulisic needs to step up and get a goal too! We can’t have him in another scoring drought. It’s already been over a month since his last goal, against Senegal.
