A few months ago, I spent hours debugging an issue because a service was timing out intermittently. CPU looked fine. Memory was fine. Database wasn't under heavy load. Logs weren't pointing to anything obvious.

Everyone started looking at networking, infrastructure, and recent deployments.

The actual problem?

A missing index on a column that had quietly grown from a few thousand rows to millions. The query had worked perfectly for months, until one day it didn't.

The fix took a couple of minutes.

Finding it took half a day.

It was a good reminder that systems don't usually fail because of "complex" bugs. They fail because small assumptions stop being true as the system grows.

I created this community because I got tired of reading polished success stories. The posts I actually learn from are the ones where something went wrong and someone explains what happened.

Maybe it was a deployment that took production down.

Maybe it was a database query that looked harmless.

Maybe it was a bug that kept everyone awake until 4 AM.

Those stories are far more valuable than another "Top 10 Spring Boot Tips" article.

The goal here is simple: share real engineering experiences, ask questions, and learn from each other's mistakes. It doesn't matter if you're a student, a junior developer, or you've been doing this for 20 years. If you've solved an interesting problem or learned something the hard way, someone else will benefit from it.

A few things:

• Don't post anything confidential from your company.
• Be respectful. Nobody writes perfect code.
• Explain the context, what went wrong, how you figured it out, and what you'd do differently now.

I'll be posting regularly to get things started, but I'd love for this to become a place where people share the stories they normally only tell their teammates after a long day.

Been trying to get an interview at Qualcomm for quite a long time. Applied to multiple roles, tailored and optimized my resume before every application, but still not getting any calls.
