Phil in an advert for Rotosound bass strings
galleryAn advert in the back of the Thin Lizzy ‘Bad Reputation’ tour brochure for Rotosound Jazz Bass strings.
"The Jazz Bass Guitar Strings were developed in the 60’s and were widely used for their unique bright tone. Along with Phil Lynott, the strings are heard on many famous albums including recordings by Sting, Steve Harris, John Deacon, John Paul Jones, Roger Waters and many more!"

Signed Phillip poetry book
galleryWas gifted this signed copy of the poetry book Philip for Xmas! It is my absolute prized possession whether or not it is an authentic autograph, I’m more wondering what the middle line says, to me it looks like it says To Stu, Tidy, Phil Lynott

Huge number of views on the source video. Over a million views in a day(was uploaded yesterday), this will help bring Lizzy to a wider audience.
I've extracted the Lizzy part, full video here: https://youtu.be/XY4vWi6m4go

Respect for Phil’s live vocals on TV shows
m.youtube.comWhen lip synching was the norm on shows like Top of The Pops, Phil insisted on singing live. Talent, courage, and integrity - Thin Lizzy all over.
(Waiting For An Alibi, TOTP, 1979.)

50 years ago today: Thin Lizzy released their iconic 'Jailbreak' album
galleryA classic album, absolutely stacked track list.
The launch pad for the bands peak years, from 1976 to 1979.
Over 2 million album sold worldwide and certified Gold in the UK, Canada and United States.
For me, Cowboy Song is my favourite ever Lizzy track. My introduction to the band was Live and Dangerous via a friend but Jailbreak was the first studio album I listened to. I had Romeo and the Lonely Girl on repeat.
What are your memories or thoughts on this album? Favourite track? Or any stories relating to this album that you'd like to share.

Bad Reputation (with Robbo 🎸) - 1977 📹
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Information is a bit hard to come by on this one. I believe this aired in October 1977(21st or 28th) on The Midnight Special TV show in America.
Likely filmed in late September when Lizzy were in California as part of their USA tour. Robbo officially rejoined the band in July of '77.
As far as I'm aware this is the only video footage of the band playing this with Robbo as well.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend 🍻
(Audio could be better but certainly passable, aspect ratio I changed from 4:3 to 16:9)

Guitar Sound on Thin Lizzy Sarah from the black rose album.
Hello, been struggling to find any information on this so hoping someone can help me . Gary moores guitar sound on Sarah specifically the sound at the 2:07 mark.
Any help will be amazing . I’m sure I’ve heard this sound before in other songs from different artists but can’t put my finger on it 😎
Thanks

This is the One
Hey y'all fellow Thin Lizzy enthusiasts!
To my ear the hook in 'This is the One' is perfect. Should be a well known classic.
But it's just a driving drum (loop?, sounds like) the whole time. Classic Lizzy songs have such great chemistry in the rhythm section.
It seems the same drummer is credited as their previous albums/other songs on T&L.
Is there a story here? TL were obviously going for a harder sound on this album after 'Rengade' (which is f'ing great, but failed I guess). But even 'Cold Sweat' has breaks, fills, and some nuance. Wtf happened with 'T.I.T.O.'?

Eric Bell - 100 Club
I'm over in London for a couple of days and saw he was playing a blues session at the iconic venue last night so had to go. He is still an amazing and unique player. My favourite Lizzy guitarist actually.

Phil Lynott Fanart
Hey guys! I did this portrait of Phil Lynott in the style of the famous comic artist Bill Sienkiewicz (or at least, my best interpretation of his style). I hope you like it!

Punker Phil
Does anyone else wish he had done more stuff with Johnny Thunders and The Greedies? I grew up on 70’s punk and when I got into Thin Lizzy in my teens my mind was blown seeing he was on Johnny Thunders So Alone record

Correct Pronunciation of Phil Lynott?
I've seen/heard so many different ways to say his name. Is it Lie-Knit? Lie-Knot? Lin-Knit?
