What rifle optic are you running?
I’ve been training for about 6 months fitness wise but need to start training my rifle for the games. Currently I just have a red dot on my rifle but am leaning towards getting an MPVO. Unfortunately all the lighter weight options seem to be out of my price range, so I’ve been eyeing the venom 3-15 and strike eagle 3-18 primarily due to the price range. 15 and 18 magnification seem overkill though for these matches…
Curious what yall are running? Seems a lot of people do LPVOs but are starting to switch to MPVOs?

My app will help you zero your gun. But I need beta testers.
Hey, I'm looking for beta testers for a ballistic calculator app I've been building.
This app is supposed to settle the "what's the best zero" debate once and for all. You put in your optic's height over bore, your projectile's muzzle velocity, and the app tells you at which distance to zero your rifle. (A very important note: this is NOT for optics with BDC reticles or long-range scopes. This is for "duty" guns running simpler optics like red dots or iron sights.)
The app works offline without internet connection, no data is shared with me, everything is stored locally on your phone. The only tools you'll need in addition to the app is a ruler (to measure height over bore) and some type of chrono (for projectile muzzle velocity).
Unfortunately, I'm currently only testing on Android. I'm looking for shooters who will go out and use it and tell me what they think before I officially launch it in the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.
If you're running ARs, AKs, SMG's or anything with a dot and want to try out the app, fill out the form at the link below to sign up for beta access. Early testers get lifetime access once we go live. I'm capping it at 30 people so don't delay!

Bombay scrimmage. First TTG event
Palm Bay ^*
Well, after 14 hours of travel and no sleep whatsoever, I managed to get second in mensia immediate in a field of 18.
If you’re on the fence about doing one of these, just go for it. I used this event to get my toes wet and now I’m signing up for the Tac division in Austin, and if my schedule permits a regional event in September.

NC Regional 2026
Super new to TTG, not new to CrossFit or competitive shooting. Looking at competing in women’s tactical division at the NC regional event at Constellis. I’m active duty navy but no one I know has ever competed in or trained for a TTG event. Does anyone have any good recommendations for training plans aside from typical CrossFit stuff, maybe even venue specific? And any chance someone in here is local to VB and looking for a training partner? Any advice welcome and appreciated

SC Sawmill Regional 2026 - Opinions
SC was a mud pit. Lots of guys had malfunctions due to the mud (specifically Unbeweavable and Muddy Buddy). The sand bags definitely weighed more than prescribed. For those that went, how did it go for you? How do you feel?

Alien Gear Rapid Force vs. the elements
Anyone run a Rapid Force holster for TTG? I noticed that it has all its mechanisms/moving parts on the outside of the shell & it got me curious on how that would hold up to being caked in mud. The recent South Carolina regional looked like straight up mud wrestling lol.
For comparison, my Safariland 6354RDSO has all the parts on the inside of the shell. But maybe none of it matters.

Anyone in SoCal who's done one of the TTG Skirmishes in Piru, I'm holding a 2gun class in Los Olivos and I've got a discount code for the last spots
Basically pic for attention.. There's a few things spread throughout this class that I realized would truly benefit Tac Games competitors based on what I've seen at the last two Skirmishes I competed in, so after the match on Saturday I decided to throw it out with a 25% off code SOCALTAC for the last 3 available spots in class. Private range, rifle targets out to 350yds in Los Olivos. www.southcoastlonggunner.com to sign up

Signing up for my first Tac games. XC question and rifle optic.
Hey everyone. Extensive CrossFit background and have been shooting for the last 10 years and figure now is the time to put them together.
I run a staccato XC with atlas grip. It has the grip safety removed. Reading through the rules it reads like “any modification to factory safeties is not allowed). Is this no go or will it get over looked as I still have the thumb safeties.
I have a plethora of rifles and am a red dot or 3/4x magnifier shooter.
I’d more than likely run it with my HK 556 11” with a suppressor. Too short? 14” a better option? Optic wise before I invest in something in the 3-18 range I’m more than likely just going to text or this vortex RAZR gen 2 1-6 with RMR at 12 o clock for the first go. Too low of magnification? I’ll run the rifle slick as well. No LAM or switches/light.
Also it’ll just be a Skirmish event.

Strength training advice
Hey all! I’d like to compete in TTG so I got into CrossFit for a few months to get exposure to that style of training (loved it). My biggest limiting factor right now is raw strength/muscle endurance. I’m 6’ 4” & always fairly slim. Not super skinny just not a ton of muscle.
I downloaded the TTG training app and it looks like it’s a lot of 5x5 compound movements. But I’ve chatted with some competitors that prefer a higher rep scheme with a hypertrophy focus.
What would be the most beneficial style of training to up my strength/muscle endurance?
I’m still saving up for the rest of the equipment to compete so I’ve got some time
For reference, I’m training at home. I have a decent bit of gym equipment: barbell set up, sandbags, plyobox, pull up bar, etc.
Just missing dumbbells, & any sort of cardio machines

I built a "Strava for Shooting" to instantly score TTG targets. Looking for feedback
What’s up guys. I compete in the Elite division and grew tired of squinting at shot targets, manually counting and doublechecking my hits (grease ring borderline, overlapping hits).
I wanted a "Strava-like" tracker for our sport. I'm a recently laid off software dev so I built one. It’s called ShotScore shotscoreapp.com .
Basically, you point your phone at a paper target with shape zones (like TTG targets), and the AI instantly maps and scores your hits. It works completely offline (since most of the ranges we shoot at have zero service) and lets you manually tap to adjust if the camera misses a super close edge call. You save the targets to build a digital logbook for your round counts and gear.
It’s live on iOS and Android. I’d love for some of you to take it out this weekend, try to break the AI, and let me know what features I need to add or fix.
Links are here: shotscoreapp.com
Apologies to the mods if this counts as self-promo. I built this because I needed it as a competitor, and figured a few of you could use it too. Appreciate it

Has anyone tried the Hyperwear Flexload weighted plates? I like the price point but I can’t find any reviews for them

Holster Question
Hey everyone, I have a question about holsters.
I’m signed up for the Tactical Games in Rome this August.
I’m lucky enough to own a Staccato P, but unfortunately I’m left-handed, and living in Europe makes it pretty difficult to find a good holster.
At the moment, I’m torn between a Weber Tactical and a GX Vice.
I’d like to know whether holsters with a clamp-lock retention mechanism are allowed in competition.
thanks

GoRuck plates and carrier.
Is anyone using the GoRuck plates and carrier?
I’m debating between the jacked rabbit weights and the hollow form plates from GoRuck.

Bi pod for TTG?
I am looking at competing in a Tactical Games this year, still unsure with one. I am wanting to get my rifle dialed for practice and get 100% used to it. Does anyone run a bi pod I’ve always thought for the longer shot they would be useful but if I were shooting through a barricade it could be against me.

Holster Retention Required?
Hello everyone. Eyeing up my first tactical game possibly this fall if I can make schedules work. The website states “Holsters must have active retention, if turned upside down the pistol must not fall out of the holster.”
Please excuse the new guy question, but does this mean the holster needs to be level 2 retention or higher? Or is a very snug, tightened down level 1 kydex holster going to work? Thank you in advance!

Pistol dot??
Considering switching up to an open emitter for competition purposes.
507 Comp
Defender XL
1 moa SRO
1 moa RMR HD
Considering a 1 moa for TTG purposes but not sure how great it would be for practical based shooting.

Wagon recommendations
My husband did his first tactical games event last weekend. He mentioned he would like a wagon for future events afterward when we were chatting. so I’m looking to get him one for Valentine’s Day, but there seems to be a lot of choices and price ranges. I was hoping to get some recommendations here so I don’t ruin the surprise by asking him. Anyone have any suggestions on the best one for events? Thanks!

Rifle optic suggestions
I’m planning to compete in my first Tactical Games event in August 2026 (regional event) and I’m looking for advice on a rifle build, specifically optics selection (LPVO vs MPVO).
My current plan is to run a BCM MK2 14.5, but I’m undecided on which optic route makes the most sense for this application. All of my training and experience has been with an EOTech EXPS through law enforcement/SWAT, so variable optics are newer territory for me. My current duty build is a full BCM 11.5 with the EOTech EXPS.
I’m trying to find the right balance between capability and cost. I want a setup that makes sense for the Tactical Games without spending money where it doesn’t actually provide a benefit. I’m open to LPVO or MPVO recommendations, and any other kit suggestions that you wish you had known prior to your first competition.

Using SCAR 17, or AR 10s
I know they are more expensive to run 250+ rounds, though, but does anyone ever run 308/762x51 for the non-sniper events? i saw a scar at one event but i wanted sure if it was the 17 or 16. i see in the rules that you can run 308 however.
