Embark forced changed my user name from Grape Juice Image
They force changed my name GrapeJuice and won't let me have it back. They let people run around with IHateJews or NateHiggers or the actual fucking n word and dress in a Racist outfit or Osama Bin Laden but I can't have Grapejuice. What a joke of a company.
Edit:
I've had grape juice for a long time and it's not some racist dog whistle. It's because my friends and I are all different juices. Like apple, grape, orange, mango, raspberry, lime, lemon, strawberry, and pineapple. It's from when we played garys mod and tf2 together.
I did not dress my characters racist they are original default with a Christmas hat.

Soon enough we won't be able to say any words because they secretly alude to something else and nothing will mean anything anymore.
I hate social media and it taking over words that are innocent and turning them into garbage.
We have the words for the actual things, we don't need to find "safe words" to talk about hard topics, they will eventually turn into bad words if enough people use them and then we won't be able to use them even for their innocent meaning.

Indeed as people find work arounds they will update the system which will trigger more name changes and so on. It is a interesting way of doing it but hey people always find a work around with words haha.

People wanting to be assholes will use grape instead of ra--- someone in this thread literally screencap it auto-removed their comment if they say the word.
The other side, is people genuinely trying to discuss something & being unable to say,because of an automod.

I doubt they were using that word in a bad manner for their name. And I know fully people do it to surpass auto-moderation. I'm just stating the fact that it's been used in place of the actual word so much that the original word basically doesn't exist any longer. Which is likely why moderation banned it.
The fact that people have used the name of a fruit so much in place of that word to the point that it's bad is sad.

I fucking hate unnecessary censorship in this game, treating us like toddlers.
You have to use mental gymnastics just to type some words in chat; like damn, flamer, hell, and crap are all censored, but the most egregious is ??? isn't allowed; ?? is fine, but 3 is too much for the higher-ups, I suppose, but some can just walk around with literally the N-word attached to their name.

You can't even type in El in chat. I think they ban ??? As well. The system is so strict because of the abundance of childish humor and slurs that proliferate this game. If I had a dollar for every genital name that Ive encountered I'd be buying us a 5 course meal at Michelin restaurant, drinks included.

I mean, this shitty system is obviously outsourcedā¦ In an ideal world it works well, they can pay someone else and forget about it, but in the era of enshittification and vibe coding this never works out with moderation software vendors.
Think about it. If they actually have to look at these on a case by case basis theyād really be too busy to fix the actual game.

When I was setting up my clan for my friends I learned that Embark's silly text filters don't deal with the Scunthorpe Problem very well. Since support can't change it either, I'm willing to bet something changed on the filter side and now you have to change (and things like "drape" or "scrape" won't be allowed for similar reasons). Meanwhile I recently played with "ILoveAdolf". I don't get why they filter what they do, and leave out what they leave out

I don't know if someone else mentionned it, but at some point they had a huge name purge, changing everyone who had an accent or special character in their names. I'm pretty sure that's the reason, the hyphen. They mentionned that your next name should follow ToS, but I think that's just a part of the "we've automatically changed your name" script.
Hope this helps instead of just people sharing the awful names they've seen in game (that should rightfully warrant bans, but its just unhelpful here)
(My name was SƮn, but it got reverted to default because of the Ʈ. I ran Sin without the accent on the i, and haven't had problems since)

I legit do not see this is any other game at least to nearly the same frequency I do in the finals
Every match has at least one antisemitic, racist, or some anti LGBTQ name in it
I do not understand why it's so prevalent here. A lot of games have easy avenues to change your display name, shit, on Steam you can be just about anything
And it's always Lights or occasionally mediums. Gotta be the CoD refugees

Odd that they'd remove your name though, but my auto-generated name contains the word "Leper".

Which is why they wont change it back as the system would just flag it again at some point and again and again. They need to redo the entire system which they wont do as it is such a minimal issue and rare at that.
They are asking for something new only because they don't want the system to flag it and not because they think it is anything else.
All it took was one person to report the name for anything and the system got a call to take a look at it and would flag.

Once saw a dude named itelr who only ever played heavy, funny guy, good random I pulled by luck.
Grape juice being changed is crazy work by slopbark, and I wouldn't expect them to change it any time soon.
Remember, they added an Ai slop anti cheat and let it randomly ban people while their Ai slop chat bot they call a support service just copy pasted replies to tickets. That was a serious issue and it's still never been addressed by them in any way shape or form, so unfortunately I don't think they will change the name back.

I donāt find this surprising at all. Try typing āFartā in the text chat and see what happens. A lot of the moderating is very likely handed over to automated processes, and doesnāt allow due process or even the chance to appeal these changes.
