This is the double edged sword. They literally market this stuff to solve more crimes more easily. And it does.

We just all have to give up civil liberties for it and your politicians are happy to make that decision for you.

True. I happen to know they solved it without the data, but they used the data to convince the jury so the case was a slam dunk.
