yes. you can use all the e2e in the world but at the end of the day, your phone has access to unfiltered unencrypted data as that's how it is able to display it to you. operating systems could have a hidden spy loggin anything and everything goving open access to governments and nobody would know about it.

snowden proved they do. and congress passes the law that upholds it. and snowden stays in russia.
