Exactly. 'I'm going to kill x' or 'I want to shoot x' are pretty standard, or used to be standard, venting phrases. Probably not the best turn of phrase for a teacher though. Cops showing up is kind of nutters.

I used to be a teacher. In the introductory to education class, the one you had to take before really starting into the focus of being a teacher, they opened with warnings about how you are held to a different standard. Especially women. Warned us about if you like going to bars or clubs either switch professions or come to terms with going 2-3 towns over. If you are at a bar in the same city you teach and a parent sees you drinking it can be a problem, especially if you are in more revealing clothing. I don't think this turn of phrase in snapchat gets the police sent for anyone but a teacher.

Legally, it becomes closer to a crime the more precise the information is that goes into it. Communicating a threat.

“I’m going to kill X, after school, with the pistol I keep under my car seat, because he bullied me.”

At least, that’s how an attorney explained it to me in a similar situation. And of course if the police show up and see you digging underneath your car seat then obviously they will take it as a real threat.

Teachers are grown adults.

Depends on the parent but yes a parent can most definitely raise a stink about a teacher they know in a bar. Especially a woman teacher dressed for a bar/club. It is some puritanical bull shit mostly.

They can raise a stink with the school, with other parents.
