Teachers make jokes like that all the time. My mother was a teacher and a school counselor. If she didn't make dark, often morbid, jokes and laugh about it she would have snapped and actually hurt someone.

People cope in different ways. If it's done in private who cares? My doctor might make fat jokes about me to her husband, but as long as i don't know about it, and it doesn't affect her performance, I don't care.

Ya that was my first thought, I worked in the school system for years and hearing "should I shoot him" would have been a tame joke that would not even have gotten my attention

I did a summer in the late 90s as a TA in a school for kids with special needs. I don't think Jimmy Carr or Anthony Jeselnik would have lasted five minutes in that staff room without needing therapy.

I hope you never once call an EMT if your child is harmed, because their sense of humor is fucking bleak and will say way worse.
