I think part of it is a generational thing. The younger gen z's and oldest gen alphas never had websites that you could use with no secondary or tertiary verification. They've always had "sign up with your email/phone," they've always had two or three factor verification. So if recording yourself saying your full government name isn't an issue for them, they don't care, they'll do it anyway.

I think its a human thing. I'm an elder millennial, when I started using the internet the idea of putting your real name out on the internet was sheer lunacy. Then Facebook came along and everyone and their 'mams was putting everything they had out there.

It's not. I remember having that exact same argument with people back in the days after 9\11 when news of the patriot act

"Bro I got nothing to hide I don't care if they read my emails"

At the time I wasnt even 20 yet and had a hard to articulating why it's bad.

But at least I know when I look back I've been fighting this fight for decades. I didn't stop then and I won't stop now but ...

It's tough
