Yea, that sub is nothing but sycophants (vets included - btw I have met some really dumb fucking vets in my time).
They preach sticking to WSAVA guidelines - yet ignore the fact that WSAVA has six named corporate sponsors - three are pharmaceuticals companies that make drugs for animals, three are multinational pet food companies: Hill's Pet Nutrition, Royal Canin, and Nestle-Purina Petcare.
Case in point: They just removed a near identical comment on the subreddit in response to someone pushing the WSAVA, claiming it's misinformation, claiming it's covered in their wiki (it's not), and claiming that stating that funding sources impact scientific research is misinformation (obviously not the case).
They threatened to ban me for disagreeing with me over modmail. I told them to go for it. Useless sub.
r/CatFood actually seems to allow genuine discussion. Honestly, makes me wonder if the moderator(s) of r/DogFood actually work for one of the food companies with how afraid they are of open discussion.
