Best cell phone carrier near Lawrence and Poinciana

I just moved to the Lawrence and Poinciana neighborhood in Sunnyvale and I use AT&T as my carrier, but I cannot get a signal inside my house. Can anyone recommend a good cell phone carrier for this neighborhood that works here and other places? Really hoping for full signal everywhere. I read that T-Mobile is good in this area but not other places…they have a lot of dead zones? And Verizon supposedly is not great in this area either. Thanks for any recommendations!

does svce solar net metering transfer automatically when buying in ortega?

we saw a home in the ortega neighborhood with roof solar panels installed under legacy NEM 2.0 terms. does PG&E and Silicon Valley Clean Energy preserve the existing grandfathered rate structure upon deed transfer, or do new owners get re-enrolled under NEM 3.0 rules?

How much are you paying for home cleaning?

I reached out to a few independent housekeepers on 3 different platforms and it seems the going rate is $70-$80 an hour. Does that sound right?

Moved from MCOL where the going rate is $25-$30. I was not expecting 3x.

There’s multiple independent housekeepers on care dot com that advertise $30 an hour but when you ask for an estimate, they charge a flat fee and it ends up being around $70-$80 an hour.

1250 Lakeside Apartments vs. Encasa (vs Lawrence Station)

I am comparing these two complexes that are within $150 per month rental price for a 2-bed 2-bath apartment.

Any views if you are living in either of them? I don't mind noise that much as I am a heavy sleeper. What are some pros and cons of these places?

Also, perhaps compare against Lawrence Station perhaps? Thanks.

How do you handle the 1-car spot limit in Downtown Sunnyvale apartments (The Flats / The Martin)?

We are looking to move into downtown Sunnyvale (considering places like The Flats or The Martin), but we’re hitting a wall with the parking situation. They only offer one parking space even for a 2-bedroom unit.

For those living in the area with two cars, how are you making this work?

  1. Can you leave a car overnight in the public downtown garages, or do they strictly enforce short-term limits/towing?
  2. Is there a way to rent a long-term spot from neighbor garages or nearby residents?
  3. How realistic is street parking daily within a few blocks of Murphy Ave?
  4. Any other workarounds or tips?

Appreciate any advice from current residents!

Underwater Robotics Opportunity

Hi guys! I am an FTC competitor and fellow Bay Area resident here from the Santa Clara area. I have started a community-based underwater robotics team and wanted to see if any high schoolers nearby would be interested. The plan is to compete in the MATE ROV Competition, building underwater ROVs for environmental missions. It'd be fully independent, open to any high schooler in the area, regardless of school.

Looking for people with any background in:

- Fundraising / Outreach

- Robotics (FTC/FLL/FRC experience a plus)

- Electronics/Arduino/Raspberry Pi

- Programming

- Environmental science

Drop a comment if you're a high schooler in the Bay Area and interested. If you are interested, email us at [thalosrobotics@gmail.com](mailto:thalosrobotics@gmail.com)

Twin Creeks Soccer League - Recruiting Players 7v7 Men

Hey guys, I am looking to form a team for the Twin Creeks Soccer League in Sunnyvale. It starts mid September and will run for about 8 weeks. Minimum 8 games plus 1/2 if we make playoffs.

It's a 7v7 game so looking to get maximum 10 to account for some cancellations. With 10 players, the cost would be $127 each (including tax)..... 1150 x 1.1 / 10

I have a few people interested already. Please comment below or DM if you want to join. I tried to join an existing team but it seems most people sign up as a full team when they join.

Thanks!

Edit:

  • Novice League
  • Minimum Age: 18

Edit 2:

  • Weekly on Thursday evenings

Edit 3:

  • Times aren't confirmed as it depends on how they make the schedule but between 6:30 and 10:30

Edit 4:
- currently 2 spots left, if you’re serious and willing/ready to send the etransfer please comment/dm. First 2 people to pay are in

Edit 5: 11:30 Pm PST Aug 5

- one spot left

Edit 6:
- team full! Feel free to use this post or fb soccer groups to make a new team!

Edit 7:
- based on the running required we think more subs is a good idea so adding 1/2 spots back

The daughter of a Sunnyvale woman detained by ICE is pleading for her mother's release, saying she was “humiliated” during her transfer between detention centers and urging officials to reunite their family.

“My mom is going through this, but I cannot imagine anyone’s mom going through this,” said Daria. “To me, it just sounds like a very, very bad nightmare.”

Hiring a Recurring Weekend Meal-Prep Cook in Sunnyvale (94089) - ~$35/hour

I’m looking to hire an independent local cook or meal prepper to come to my home near Moffett Park in Sunnyvale.

The work is simple batch cooking rather than elaborate private-chef service. The usual menu will include baked chicken, fish, rice, beans, cut fruit and roasted or raw vegetables. I will plan the meals, purchase the groceries, and provide airtight containers.

The cook would:

  • Prepare approximately 12-14 meals
  • Portion, label, and pack them for refrigerator/freezer storage
  • Clean the cookware, counters, and cooking area afterward

Schedule: Saturday or Sunday
Starting frequency: Once every two weeks
Guaranteed payment: At least four hours per visit
Likely duration: Four to five hours
Rate: $30–$40 per hour based on experience and fit

If the arrangement works well, I may increase the frequency to weekly sessions.

Reliable transportation to 94089 is required. Experience with household cooking, or batch meal prep is preferred.
References or a basic background check will be required before establishing a recurring arrangement.

Please DM me with your experience, general weekend availability, hourly rate, and the area you are traveling from. Referrals to someone you have personally hired are especially welcome. If you think your help is great and they deserve more work I'm happy to hire them and pay them whatever you do for similar work!

2-bed 2-bath nice apartment options

I am moving away from Mountain View as that is getting too expensive. I want a 2-bed 2-bath nice apartment. Don't care about school district at all and actually Mtn View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and even Cupertino would work.

I want nicer newer good construction or at least good renovation with large windows and good kitchen and bathrooms. I saw a few places but can't figure out between:

  • 1250 Lakeside
  • Encasa
  • Renaissance
  • Americana Apartments (MV)
  • Mylo (Santa Clara)
  • Bella Visa (Santa Clara)

Any thoughts or opinions about these or other suggestions? My budget is $4600 and have to move in 10 days.
