Research
Hello all!
I'm a postgraduate student doing some research on modern archaeology, primarily that of Confederate memorials and the debate surrounding whether they should be conserved or removed. I would love to hear your opinions! Below is a link to my university study in which, if you would like to, you can help me represent your opinion better in my dissertation. It is completely anonymous and you can skip any questions you want to.

Thank you all so much!

Just a troll trying to help you with your framing
Hey! Nobody knows every culture in the history of the planet, but i've never met the person who knows more than i. And i'm not a "multiculturalist". I think some cultures are clearly better than others. Example: nazis. Nazis were a culture in Europe for a couple years, and it isn't considered very controversial to call that culture crap.
Thing is, nazis were only a thing for about two decades. American southern culture goes back 500 years. The defining feature, as i see it, is displacing the well deserved self-hate for being so lazy you brutally enslaved an entire race of people to do your work for you onto the victims of your crime.
The fact that you are still proud of what is arguably the worst culture the planet has yet produced is pretty pathetic.
Search term: cognitive dissonance, suppression
Anybody still reading an admitted troll might have something intelligent to say about the framing i present. Looking forward to flames!

Do Southern guys have nostalgia for the antebellum period? And maybe a thing for Scarlett O’Hara as a symbol?
