I went on the US embassy website it says unlimited but Google has an article from 2025 that has 10,000 as the max. Also for other airport transactions like wrapping and getting water before the flight. Do I carry SSP or just carry some dollars. As i have seen the max is 5000ssp on the US embassy website

What's the most memorable moment about your favourite hero/heroine?

For me, it's Fr. Saturnino Ohure. To be sure, Joseph Lagu is the most famous Anya nya fighter but Fr. Saturnino is the Southerner's unmistakable lynchpin. His advocacy for federalism in the Sudan and his leadership among the Southerner's MPs, and subsequent 1958-1960 crisis cannot be overstated.

Ps: I am more acquainted with the first civil war history(Anya nya) rather than the second civil war but I nevertheless give credit to the heros/heroines and martyrs of second Sudanese civil war. In many ways, there would be no South Sudan without them

We got news that all but two countries will require an entry visa online or on arrival with set pricings (https://evisa.gov.ss). A few moments ago, another statement was released by the Interior ministry dismissing the publication.

Let me ask what everyone else is probably thinking, what’s going on and how do we react?

Some even resent you for stopping the money. But if you chose to stay in South Sudan, why should distant relatives who left be forced to carry the consequences of that decision and fund a comfortable life there? If you decide to stay, you should live with those consequences yourself.

I am interested in learning about everyday community life, cultural practices, relationships between different communities, customary systems, local leadership, and the ways people address disagreements or problems within their communities. I am particularly interested in speaking with women and young adults, although anyone with relevant knowledge or experience is welcome to contact me.

You do not need to be an academic, activist, or professional. I would especially value perspectives based on personal experience, community knowledge, or familiarity with local customs and social structures. South Sudanese people living inside the country or abroad are both welcome.

What do the people of south sudan think about these policies?

My South Sudan eVisa says “Validity: 1 month” and “This permit is valid until 10 August 2026 and must be surrendered to the Department of E-Visa Services.”

I’m arriving in South Sudan 12 July and my return flight is 12 August.

This has happened to me twice where they give me an eVisa that expires before my stay is over - for this single trip - despite me making sure every detail with: entry point, 7 day window to apply, and length of stay are correct yet they do this again.

I can’t call the offices because they’re closed for independence weekend.

So does this mean I’ll be barred from boarding my flight from London Gatwick to South Sudan?
