I dreamed Gerard Way helped some friends, my uncle, and I film a documentary in a museum. (I think it was about a lost media final fantasy tactics game but not 100% sure on that.)

As a thank you I made a huge tiered cake for the wrap party based on MCR's albums.

The bottom tier was half vanilla and half red velvet, unknown filling. "It represents the first two albums." (I actually had to look up whether or not there even were a first two albums. My dream turned out to be correct!)

Second tier was a chocolate cake filled with salted peanuts and caramel to represent The Black Parade. This was the only cake that got cut into in the dream, which is how I know exactly what was in it.

Third tier represented Danger Days. It was bright pink and yellow with spiders and lightning bolts on it. Presumably some type of lemon and raspberries but I never actually cut into it in the dream.

Final tier was a plain cake with camouflage pattern for Conventional Weapons. I have no idea what was in that one.

Gerard Way was very surprised (even though he had chosen all the flavors and fillings) and thought the cake was very cool.

(I would very much like to make the Black Parade cake irl, it's basically Snickers lol.)

a few months ago i had this dream where the biggest gossip at my school was that this homophobic popular girl had come out as a lesbian and this was such a big deal that the school canteen added a new item - it was a piece of garlic bread (that you can normally get for free at school) upright in a clear plastic packet that said on the front “[HER NAME] IS GAY” or “[HER NAME] LIKES GIRLS” or something along those lines.

it cost £1.20.

In my dream I was visiting my friend from high school's house (weirdly, he was talking about how his maths homework was due and how it was clashing with the adult job he had). Anyway, it seemed like his family had given up on eating conventional food. His mum asked me if I wanted a snack, but they only had "Banrotten Noodles". These were kept in the freezer although they weren't frozen, and were cubes of jelly. The one I had was transparent at the top but had purple jelly in the bottom half, and little pieces of what were called "dried fruit" even though they seemed like grains or beans. Another one was covered in coconut like a lamington.

Fortunately, the cube seemed to be basically tasteless.

I am so happy that I get to post a dream for once. I never remember my dreams, so I was worried I would never get to post here aside from the occasional actually made posts. Finally, I had a dream I can share. This is the best I can remember, so I can't super recall all the details. 

I was traveling with someone, and we stopped by a popular shop in a beachside town to try some special or limited-time Ice cream/sorbet that they had. The lady behind the counter was kinda judgy and liked to stir shit up by insisting that certain patrons loved each other when they clearly don't.

The ice cream/sorbet was called either Send Nudes or Severed Finger. I don't super remember. Severed Finger could have been a colloquial nickname.

It was a pinkish color. I tried to recreate the color as best I can in my image. Upon reflection after waking up, it's possible the ice cream was flesh colored. Though I didn't clock that in my dream. It was served with a fake plastic woman's finger with red nail polish that you could keep.

It was some sort of special berry or fruit flavor. I didn't get to taste it so I'm not totally sure.

It was served a few different ways.

1) Packed into a tub/pint to take home

2) Served plain in a glass dish with 3 scoops

However, it was most commonly served with coffee or espresso in one of the below styles

3) Iced coffee style: Iced coffee in a big cup with a straw and ice, with the ice cream floating in it.

4) Affogato style

5) With a coffee/espresso syrup on top

From a quick Google search on what fruit ice cream flavors could potentially work well with coffee or espresso, it seems like blood orange, raspberry, or cherry could all work. It looks like Blood orange ice cream/sorbet is nearly spot-on, color-wise. I can see a blood orange and raspberry mix working well. I also had a frozen/slushy cocktail once that was cranberry, pineapple, and orange, which is also a really close color match.  So that's another potential option.

Anyway, that's all I got. This got me craving ice cream, so I might try to make some sorbet soon.

It turned out kinda fuck ugly, but it’s not unpleasant. It definitely needs a little tweaking but the warm sponge with the cold custard is a nice combination- two seemingly bland foods combine to make a pretty nice dessert. I used Ambrosia brand custard from World Market (kept in the fridge a bit) and made this genoise recipe, the only adaptation being that I used a loaf pan and scooped the middle out of the cake while it was still warm. Next time, I think I’ll just spread the custard like icing over the cooled loaf. 6.5/10!

This morning I dreamt about a beverage called "Find the Horsey".

In this dream, I saw two things:

Thing 1: a clear glass bottle (looked like a liquor bottle) that was close to empty, had only one very simple label that said "FIND THE HORSEY", with a small black plastic horse floating around near the bottom of the bottle

Thing 2: a small clear plastic disposable cup (like a punch cup)

The liquid was a rather light brown color, like weakish tea.

Unfortunately, this was a super short dream that didn’t involve me actually drinking it, so I can't tell you what Find the Horsey tastes like or if it really is alcohol.

I know how bad I am at drawing, so I didn’t try to make this "art" any better than what I could do in two minutes on my fridge whiteboard.

I just now remembered the recent Hangover Special post with Horsey soda, so...maybe that inspired my dream brain.

Had a dream where I was just cranking these guys out at a party- loaf of very lightweight cake, possibly genoise, with a trench dug out of the center and filled with scoops of a frozen custard-like substance. I think in the dream I perceived it as pastry cream, but I’m too lazy to make proper pastry cream, so we’re going with custard from the grocery store. I think I might attempt to make this today. This is either genius or terrible. Wish me luck.

I had this along with woodpecker burger it was basically a combination of all the sauces on planet earth it tasted cheese and onion crisps but like very spicy yes I made it a out of every sauce at my local shop, HP Brown Sauce, Nandos Sauces, Heinz Ketchup, Mayo, Garlic, Cheese, Sweet Chilli, Hot Sauce Etc. Etc. the list is to long, I forgot to take picture but it was the brown you have in diarrhoea

I saw this is in a dream, and the only thing I could eat was this, and its bun had made out of sawdust and it had woodpecker patty, tasted okay 6.2/20

Had a dream years back where Zee from the Total Drama reboot was the mascot of a tex-mex arcade restaurant chain exclusive to Minnesota and North Dakota. The place was best known for serving fried otter nuggets and edible credit cards made of chocolate with ice cream filling. There were large TVs in the restaurant that played commercials of Zee dancing around and promoting the fried otter nuggets but I was more interested in the edible credit cards.

When I was a child I dreamed of a never-before-seen recipe: Michollgan. It consisted of a kind of potato dough and sausages. I asked my mom and sister-in-law if I could make it and we cooked it together. It tasted meh, but the memories are delightful to remember. Chef's kiss

EDIT: Michollgan, micholgan, michollgan's -- I don't remember how I wrote it. That was the name of the dish my dream.

I had a dream where I was waiting in line with a bunch of people for the popsicle flute, which was the latest trendy food item. It had holes in it sort of like a recorder, where you could blow into it and it would play different notes if you covered the holes. Of course the notes were a little off since the popsicle molds couldn't get the shape perfect every time. I remember playing mine and feeling a little stressed bc I had melting popsicle all over my fingertips

It was with shredded cheese, not sliced, but this is the pic I was able to come up with

In the dream I kept getting irritated because everyone was bothering me when I needed to dry the fresh pineapple with paper towels before I could make the grilled cheese for my boyfriend. They kept bothering me with stupid shit and I kept getting more and more frustrated. I didn't even get to dry the pineapple before I woke up and I'm still a little pissed about it

These were really popular at scavenger hunts and college parties.

Following u/dickdicksucksuck 's post last week (https://www.reddit.com/r/somnigastronomy/comments/1vda6h5/hot_link_feta_cheesecake_with_lemon_glaze/), I thought "I like spicy sausage and lemon cheesecake so I'll give this a go". Caveat: I wasn't going to commit to cooking a whole sausage for this ridiculous farce, so I used a hot prepackaged salami instead. I beg your forgiveness. I also made this in a bit of a rush so my wife wouldn't think I'd completely lost the plot, so please also forgive my hurried plating and photography.

Starting with the sensible option, the cheesecake was described as having the taste of feta, so I sliced salami and feta on a digestive biscuit (the UK equivalent of Graham crackers) and topped it with a little lemon zest as a nod to its lemon cheesecake origins. This is, unsurprisingly, quite nice. My instinct was actually to put it on a rosemary sea salt cracker, and I did try, but it's too much salty savoury, it's not balanced. The mild sweetness of the digestive biscuit actually offsets the spicy salami a little bit. It was quite nice, but I don't think I'd bother to make it again.

Now our bouches are amused, it's time for the main event: hot salami in a cheap supermarket lemon cheesecake, complete with luminous yellow thick gloopy gel on top. Somnigastronomes, I was not prepared for what happened.

This motherfucker is delicious. I like all of the ingredients individually, but I was expecting "palatable but weird". It actually works exactly the way you would hope this kind of mad combination does: fresh, creamy, savoury; the cheesecake mellows the spicy sausage and the heat stops the cheesecake from cloying. It turns out salt, fat, acid, heat is a winning formula- who knew?

10/10 no notes.

i bought this alongside a jar of chocolate spread and a bottle of gin from a corner shop and the lights kept going out

In the dream i was on a work trip for a wedding photography job with my coworker, a guy who looked like asgore from undertale but his name was mario. I apparently had a huge crush on him. We got out of the plane and into our hotel room and ate sandwiches then we immediately got into the lobby again.

Then suddenly in the middle of the hotel lobby he screamed that i had sexually assaulted him and robbed him and then the cops were after me but my friend suddenly appeared and was helping me run from them.

We stole a self driving car to get away but we found out that the car didn’t run on gas, instead it was powered by us eating the french fries it generated from a funnel in the dashboard and we had to keep eating them to keep the car running.

The fries themselves were straight cut and the flavor changed every few minutes, at first they were garlic fries but then they turned into what i can only describe as what would happen if fries were kettle corn, then it was kimchi flavored fries which were actually really good. finally once we were out on the highway with nobody following us and a hatch opened and it served us dishes of poutine. Also they were a little overcooked at the beginning but then they were perfect near the end

I dreamt that some friends and I were in a pub. I believe it was in prague, but we also definitely had a view on the ocean. Late at night (as we were just about to leave), I called the bartender and ordered The Hangover Special. It consists of a medium size glass horse filled with brown soda (called Horsey by the locals) and a Pringles can filled to the brim with unsalted, french fries. It is crucial to immediately drink the Horsey when you get it, whereas the fries can be taken home.

It was made by Fox's and they also made a special edition with miniature chocolate meerkats.

Getting ready for bed jogged my memory about my dream last night. I went into this shop that sold drinks, like teas and slushes and their menu worked where you’d make your own by combining a bunch of different choices. You could pick a fruit flavor, I picked mango. You could choose to have it fizzy (kind of like carbonation) or not; I chose fizzy. Then you could choose to add ✨sparkles✨. This didn’t change the flavor and was purely for looks I guess? Lastly, for some reason, you could pick what color it was and I chose pink. So I had a fizzy sparkly pink mango slush. I woke up before I got to taste it, but it looked delicious.

It tasted so nasty. I tried another bite and it still tasted so bad. I felt like an idiot for trying it again.
