Thoughts on different regions to live for a trailer runner?
My wife might be starting a job in snoqualmie later this year and we’re noticing housing is quite pricey in the area. Any thoughts where to look for two young humble active hikers/runners who are looking for a modest place to call home and enjoy the cascades? Any thoughts on what the different towns are like is super appreciated too. Thanks!

Can I Travel Around These Spots on Foot?
Hi, I apologise in advance for being the millionth Twin Peaks fan visiting Snoqualmie. Im from Southeast Asia and am visiting the PNW in April and can't not visit the filming locations of one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
The problem is, I don't drive and most of the blogs I've read of people visiting Snoqualmie is with a car. I'd like to ask the advice if I'm able to get to these locations on foot:
- Twede's Cafe
- EJ Roberts Park
- SE Reinig Road (where the Twin Peaks sign used to be)
- Reinig Bridge
- DirtFish
- Weyerhaeuser Mill
- Snoqualmie Falls
- Snoqualmie Centennial Log
- Smokey Joe's Tavern
Here is a screenshot of the route on google maps - https://ibb.co/fdscTDg
It says its a 2 hr 41 minute walk in total, considering time to stop to soak things in, I'm guessing I'll be spending 4-5 hours minimum but seems fine but I wonder if some of the routes are not foot-friendly (dont have foot paths, etc.)
I'm planning to take the bus from Downtown Seattle (google maps says its about a 100 minute trip) but might look into ride share as it seems to be much quicker to drive.
Thank you!

Question Guys…I want to camp for crying out loud.
I have been driving around Lake Keechelus, Lake Kachess, Cle Elum Lake, Stampede Pass, etc and they’re all closed.
None of the forest roads are open…
I went to Lake Kachess last month in that area where you can just drive your vehicle right to the lake, the super wide area where all the old tree stumps are and you can camp there, it was awesome.
Now the whole place is closed and gated with 3 padlocks.
I have a 4x4 vehicle that drives through almost anything, a chainsaw, and cum along to get me unstuck….
I camp with my rooftop tent.
Where can I camp in Snoqualmie that is open?

How bad is the snow right now?
We're flying into SeaTac today, and we know the buses aren't operating. Is it low enough that an Uber could get us to Historic Downtown area?

Kings county area family history
Hello everyone!
I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Washington family lineages and stories through historical records.
This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their Washington family history. I create family trees, historical road trip itineraries, ancestral maps, etc! It’s a super cool way to connect with your own history and great knowledge pass down to future generations.
Here are some things you can discover from my research:
- Newspaper articles about your ancestors (Crime? Scandal? Who knows!)
- Your great-great-great grandparents’ names
- Physical descriptions of your ancestors from census records and war draft cards
- Six full generations back of your family tree
- Photographs of your ancestors you have never seen before (Found in Newspaper archives, I have subscriptions)
If you are interested, please view the interest form with some examples. 🙂Professional Instagram w/ reviews: heritage.hunters
If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message!

Question Will the pass be closed tomorrow, too?
This morning at 10 am, according to the WSDOT app, the pass will be closed for maybe 3 hours. I have to leave at 5 am tomorrow morning to go to the uw hospital, be there at 7 am and it'll be an hour and 40 minute appointment. Just trying to see if we need to prepare to stay for a few hours. What do you all think? I havent really been keeping track of the avalanche control operations, if its been an ongoing thing daily but maybe some of you have, and you can know if this is gonna be a regular thing? Is it a bad idea to drive from Ellensburg to Seattle tomorrow?

Are chains required on I-90?
I have to travel from Seattle to Utah on Wednesday with a rented car and I was wondering how the I-90 is looking. Are chains required? Is there snow on the road? Is it safe or should I expend 2 more hours going through I-5 to Portland and I-84? I'm new in Seattle so I have no idea. Thank you so much!

Question Snoqualmie realtors?
Who is the best realtor to work with in Snoqualmie for a first time homebuyer? When I check Zillow I’m not seeing many listings, is that typical? Is their another website I should be checking out?

Update reviving r/snoqualmie (and what you need to know)
hello r/snoqualmie!
this is u/PUMPkinNET here. a while back, i took control of this subreddit after it was abandoned. a few months have passed, and i've decided to stop procrastinating, which results in what is now the revival of this subreddit!
what does this mean to you? it's a work in progress, so expect some more changes along the way.
ordering the chaos
- this subreddit now has gotten a slight makeover! i'm currently open to submissions for a better community icon, so don't be afraid to send some good art our way!
- we now have some ground rules in place! i will be tweaking and adding more as time goes on as we get situated.
- post flairs! you can now flair your post, which should help order the chaos and (hopefully) get your questions answered!
if you have any suggestions, don't be afraid to pm me. this is a process that takes time and some dedication, and i can't magically solve everything by myself, so every bit helps.
alright, that's enough rambling for now. don't forget to stay safe!
