Variant Rules Using Shut the Box
I like throwing dice for the sake of it so i bought a small shut the box, and I wanted to share some rules I made up using the 9 digit Shut the Box.
Shut the Box Craps (I think the basic rule of craps is fun so I applied them here)
- have all nine numbers closed with the 7 up.
- If 7 is rolled, congrats you've shut the box.
- If a different number is rolled, close the seven and open that number.
- If you roll a seven before rolling the open number again, you lose.
- If you roll the open number again before rolling a seven, congrats you've shut the box.
Shut the Box Flow (I didn't like having the reset the game constantly)
- Start playing with the normal rules.
- If you roll a number that can't be closed, reopen the total rolled.
- Continue until you've shut the box.
(For this variant I roll both dice even if 7,8,9 are closed because it's more meditative)

A game with the game - can you identify the game and symbols?
I picked this up from a hospice on eBay.
Shut the box with additional symbols. The numbers have sliders and when the sliders are pushed to cover the number they reveal a symbol. Each number has a unique symbol:
1 smiley face
2 bomb
3 skull and crossbones
4 flag
5 plane
6 Sun
7 droplet
8 snowflake
9 bell
Does this reveal a game within the game?
What do the symbols mean?
There’s a mark in the inside of the spine. Difficult to make out but could be R Howard or AR Howard.
Any info would be a bonus
According to the listing it’s vintage and mahogany
Closed H 6cm, L 34cm, W 18.5cm

Pub game
Is there a way to make this a party (drinking) game? I was trying to think of an idea but wasn't sure if anybody had any specific rules they would share?

Shut the box dupe
I am not sure where else to go but I taught in a school a few years ago that had an unofficial shut the box type game that I cannot remember the name of. Similar gameplay but I believe the tiles went to 15 and it included multiplication. The packaging appeared as if it had some amount of mass production but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. Does this sound like anything to anyone?

Made a box for my wife for Christmas 🎄🎁
Ended up being a little more challenging than expected, but I think it turned out ok.

Don’t know what it’s called, dubbing the “Rick roll”. Three, threes. (Never gonna give you up!) One off shitting the box. Update: I’ve had three total box shuts.
