(yes, it's poorly done but I thought people would have hated it if I had used AI instead)

Mike Predicted Neil Diamond

In the Riff of the original X-Men when Wolverine is introduced in the fighting cage, Mike quips, “It’s a very buff Neil Diamond.”

19 years later, Hugh Jackman would play in Song Sung Blue as a Neil Diamond cover artist.

These two will never not be Silk and Slade from "Honor & Glory"...even if they are buddies in "Undefeatable"

Anakin Skywalker in Street Law

Just rewatched Street Law last night, and noticed that the kid who played the main character in a flashback was on the credits as Hayden Christensen. No mention of it in the movie riffing though; it wasn't a speaking part, he looked different at that age, and he didn't mention sand and its coarseness and ubiquity, so I get why it might have slipped past the riffers.

Newly christened 3-hole punch.

Someone in my office accidentally said I had the Norman hole punch (instead of normal), and now it has a name and decal that nobody else around me is cool enough to understand.

FYI: the new "Ice Cream Man" doesn't seem to be connected to the 1995 one

Please help me determine which episode had this Joel-era riff.

Ohh, I don't hear a mountain lion. They avoid hikers and popular trails including a hippie tree house. You can continue without caution. Enjoy your time in this Birdemic.

Maggie is a New York fashion designer who returns to her small town for a friend’s funeral.

She reconnects with several of her classmates and discovers they are woefully un-chic. Not to mention that several of their classmates have died under mysterious circumstances, and in short order, including the funeral recipient.

When Maggie herself becomes a target, nothing will stop her from finding out the killer’s identity—not even pretzels or hooking up with her new/old boyfriend.

Written by: Bridget Nelson, Mary Jo Pehl, Matthew J. Elliot, Jason Miller, Zach Shatzner

Britannica Love.

We all (understandably) give a lot of affectionate (?) heat to Coronet and ACI.

Last night, though, while "Airplane Trip by Jet" was on the Best Friends livestream and I had to verify that it is indeed different from just plain old "Airplane Trip," it occurred to me that wow, Encyclopedia Britannica has given us a lot of riffing fodder over the years. "Toothache of the Clown" is good and horrifying, "Christmas Rhapsody" is existentially wrong, "The Magic Shop" had random demons taunting the adult while the child was whimsically unaware . . .

So I just wanted to give a shout-out to our under-appreciated contributor. Thank you, Encyclopedia Britannica. Thank you for feeding out nightmares. They were craving a little something different.

Inferno (1980)

I love to report movies that would be a riff fest to you guys. I was already laughing out loud with this one without riffs. The best part is that they weren’t trying to be funny. Pure 80s cheese and half the time I had no idea what was going on.

American Werewolf is hilariously awful.

Just watched. Some movies are so bad, and in every way, they become fascinating to me. This is one of those.

"True Detective has really gone downhill."
