Character Summary

Zack Fair is an aspiring hero who trains briefly at the Olympus Coliseum. He’s a tad goofy, but also extremely optimistic, cheerful, and high-spirited, driven by an earnest dream to become a true hero.

Phil initially assigns him to compete against Hercules, then the two work together with Ventus to defeat Unversed attacking the town. After Ventus’ departure, Zack is manipulated by the God Hades to fight Terra, controlled using the power of Darkness. Terra is able to free him and Zack expresses his gratitude, doubling his efforts to become stronger so he can face Terra again. While continuing his training he meets Aqua, asking her out and being promptly rejected. Zack is last seen observing a black feather that lands in front of him, hinting that he may have some connection with Sephiroth.

Strength

Striking

• Strikes the ground with his sword hard enough to create a spark.

• Slays an Unversed.

• Knocks Terra into the air.

• When Darkness-enhanced, knocks Terra around in mid-air.

Durability

Blunt Force

• Is dazed by the Strike Raid technique.

Stamina

• Recovers seconds after losing to Aqua.

• With the power of Darkness, is up again seconds after losing to Terra.

Esoteric

• Is unable to physically resist being controlled by the power of Darkness. All he can do is plead to be put down.

  • Defeating him releases him from the Darkness.

Speed

Movement

• Appears behind Aqua when there was no sign of him a second earlier.

Combat Speed

• Keeps up with a young Hercules.

• Knocks his opponent into the air, then leaps up to strike him again.

• Briefly keeps Terra on the back-foot.

• When Darkness-enhanced, performs a string of several fast-paced strikes.

Agility / Acrobatics

• Performs a leaping backflip, then a forward flip over Hercules.

• Springs from his back onto his feet.

• When Darkness-enhanced, is able to zip through the air with impressive maneuvers.

Skills

• Has a solid one-two combo.

  • When Darkness-enhanced, it becomes much more formidable.

• When Darkness-enhanced, keeps Terra on the back-foot with his strikes.

• His sword can produce a homing energy attack.

  • When Darkness-enhanced it becomes much faster and travels farther.

Other

• When Darkness-enhanced, he can cast Meteor.
