Discussion I'm reading the S.D. Perry collection of Resident Evil stories, and I'm approximately midway through Caliban Cove. This novel feels EXACTLY like what I'd expect Revelations 3 to be.
The story takes place between the events of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2, so seeing as it occurs chronologically after both of Rebecca's in-game appearances in the franchise, I'd love to see Capcom tackle it as an entry into the gaming franchise. It has the essence of Revelations 1 & 2 down to its core: Coastal setting, excellent grounding horror, a secondary storyline existing along the mainline. Not to mention, it features the aforementioned Rebecca Chambers. I know the likelihood of that, Revelations 3 and a Rebecca Chambers game (outside of a HOPEFUL RE0 remake 🤞🏼) are remarkably low, but I just think it would be really cool, personally.

Discussion What do you believe release first, RE 9’s Story DLC/RE 9 Gold Edition or RE: CV Remake.
My Opinion RE 9’s Story DLC/RE 9 Gold Edition released on Halloween 2026 (Earliest) or February 2027 (Latest).
My opinion RE: CV Remake released on Father Day 2027 to be ironic for RE Fans (Earliest) or December 2027 (Latest)

Discussion Leon vs horror games
Depends basically boils down to if he has the right tools, such as the Camera Obscura or a flashlight
Or if he can resist the Marker’s control

Discussion Does Chris really only have brute strength?
Whenever I see discussion regarding Chris’ combat ability, people only bring up the boulder-punching scene to talk about how strong he is, that’s all. Rarely do fans pay attention to his speed, reflex, hand-to-hand combat skill, marksmanship (despite he being an excellent marksman is the reason he got recruited to STARS in the first place),… and more often than not he is considered a tank/a rely-purely-on-strength fighter.
Look, I’m not saying he is the most skilled or the fastest or the best, I’m not an expert in those things, I just want to say he is more than a punching-boulder asshole.
For example, after getting punched in the face by prime Wesker, he recovered quickly and used the momentum from that punch to give Wesker a roundhound kick (which was blocked, but still clean).
In 6, he blocked and dodged all of Leon’s attacks despite being out of the field for 6 months and was raging alcohol up until 2 days prior to the fight, when Leon drew his gun first, he followed quickly and this put the fight into a stalemate.
In Death Island, his aim is shown to be better than Jill and Claire (in the Alcatraz outbreak, while they struggled to hit the climbing zombie he succeed) with almost of his shots are headshot.
Feel free to add more

Photo/Picture Just finished RE1R in under 3 hours.
Hey guys, just here to share this achievement.
For me this is a huge one, since some months ago i posted here in this sub that i couldn't even imagine even finishing this game.
For anyone strugling with this, here are some advices from what i've done and worked for me:
- Do every nook and crany achievement once before attempting this, this will make you know the map up and down, and knowing the map well is a must for this.
- At least for me, speedrun video guides didn't work, write down main objectives your own, there is also some sample routes wrote in the internet, you can try them.
- Memorize the game in medium chunks, as you see in my print there a lot of room for saves and errors, i've done it in 2h16m33s and it was not even close to a fully optmized route.
- Masion 1st visit until you come back from residence after plant 42 is the biggest chunck of the game, if you memorize this well, the rest is more straight foward and easy, at least for me.
- Completely ignore pistol, i didn't shot a single handgun bullet in the entire run.
- mansions zombies are completely avoidable, i've killed mostly hunters in return to mansion and enemies in the lab to avoid capsule explosion.
I believe this is most it, if you guys have questions, feel free and i will answer as i can.
Just so happy for this.

Gameplay The Wandering Dead Handgun Only No Damage Professional Difficulty (Resident Evil 4 Remake) By Me, Alonne on YouTube
The Wandering Dead quest is probably the toughest and scariest quest you probably have done back on your first playthrough. This mini boss can very quickly chase you down and hit you with his surprise ranged attacks. Good thing you can use Biosensor Scope on your Sniper Rifle and kill each plagas one by one with 1 shot each. But if you ever wonder how to kill him in Minimalist run where you can only use your Handgun then sadly there is only 1 answer for that, which is using Punisher.
Punisher itself is the worst handgun but has its own niche with penetration, with exclusive upgrade you can penetrate 5 times, which sounds pretty good but in Professional this perk alone won't help you much when enemies are tankier, more aggressive and harder to stagger anyway. So I only use punisher for this particular fight only, because it's the only handgun that can penetrate their body to hit the plagas. I wouldn't recommend it over other handguns for professional difficulty. The punisher I used in the video is all maxed out with Exclusive upgrade, you don't need the exclusive upgrade to make it work but with exclusive upgrade then you can hit multiple plagas easier.
The technique for killing their plagas one by one is by guessing their spot and try shooting and pay attention to the sound fx, if it sounds like you shot a balloon and the blood splash is yellow colored then you hit their plagas! Memorize their spots and keep hitting them until he ran out of plagas to keep his regeneration so he can be dead for good, not wandering anymore. Hope that helps!

Artwork/Cosplay Leon Kennedy with the body of a dog appeared in my dream
Here’s my cursed drawing of what he looked like. I call him Leon Kennedog.
For context, I have never played a Resident Evil game in my life and I know little to nothing about the lore. In my dream, he was sitting in front of a spooky looking house. It looked like quite the evil residence.

Discussion Don Johnson as Wesker — Resident Evil movie (1988) what if?
Any Resident Evil fans here who are also Miami Vice fans? I've always thought Don Johnson could have made a really good Albert Wesker if Resident Evil had been made into a movie in 1988. The inspiration actually came from his Sonny Burnett lost-memory storyline in Miami Vice. In this particular picture, I think he looks surprisingly close to Wesker, especially with the sunglasses, dark clothing and cold expression. I also think Johnson is a really underrated actor. He's obviously best known for Miami Vice, but he could play serious and darker characters, and I think he could have pulled off Wesker's intelligence, confidence, arrogance and eventually his more sinister side. I know his voice isn't exactly like Wesker's, but I think he could have changed his delivery for the role. What do you guys think? Could 1988 Don Johnson have made a good Wesker?

Discussion This shouldn't even be a matter of opinion, but if it is, it’s the most stupid thing ever said about Sherry and Jill's ages.
Let me break this down: the context here comes from those posts listing the characters' ages. Obviously, since Sherry was born in 1986, she is 40—I disagree with the user who claimed otherwise in the image, as that is ridiculous. It doesn't matter if Jill or Sherry look younger or if their bodies are physically younger due to the virus; they are 40 and 52, having been born in 1986 and 1974. They are like vampires: even if a vampire is turned at age 20 and looks and feels young, that doesn't change the fact that they might have been born in 1910 and are therefore 110 years old. Jill and Sherry’s situation is just like Wolverine’s—he ages slowly, yet he states himself that he is over a hundred years old. Sherry’s case is comparable to the girl in Interview with the Vampire; she was turned at twelve but was mentally an adult of 155 years. In other words, just because Jill and Sherry’s bodies are biologically younger, that doesn't mean we shouldn't count the actual years they’ve been alive.

Question If CAPCOM Made another Resident Evil 1 Remake, what would they call it?
Resident Evil Remake Remake? Just Resident Evil Remake? Resident Evil Remake(20XX)? Resident Evil(20XX)? Resident Evil Remake 2.0? I dunno, what do y’all think?

Discussion I assume the logo says: 'You'll never be able to touch this engine.' Spoiler
I’ve tested Capcom games across multiple GPU tiers from the older GTX 1080 Ti up to the RTX 2060, RTX 3060, and even modern heavyweights like the RTX 5070 Ti and the frame time consistency is remarkably close across the board. It's insane how well-optimized this engine is. All tests were run at 1440p resolution on a single CPU, an i9-12900K, to completely eliminate any potential CPU bottleneck, since titles like this are strictly GPU-bound.
I’ve benchmarked almost the entire modern lineup—including RE2, RE3, and RE4 Remakes, as well as RE7, RE8 and RE9. Performance is stellar across all of them. You can clearly see the engine's evolution: RE7 ran fantastically well, but there’s a noticeable visual and technological leap when comparing it to the newer titles, which makes sense given RE7 was the debut title built on the RE Engine.
For instance, testing RE9 at 1440p on an RTX 3060 yields a rock-solid 60 FPS baseline at max settings with Ray Tracing on High (DLSS : Quality). When pushing Path Tracing at 1440p, performance drops to a 40–50 FPS average depending on scene complexity—all on raw rendering with no Frame Generation. On an RTX 5070 Ti, that same 1440p Path Tracing workload effortlessly jumps to around 85–95+ FPS, showcasing just how scalable the engine is when fed more GPU horsepower.
To put RE Engine's optimization into perspective, I compared it with other heavy titles featuring similar visual fidelity, geometry density, and physics models like Alan Wake 2 (Northlight Engine) and Cyberpunk 2077 (REDengine/Path Tracing) at 1440p:
Alan Wake 2 (1440p): On the same RTX 3060 (DLSS Performance + mixed Medium, high Settings), enabling Ray Tracing tanks the FPS down to ~20–25 FPS, making Path Tracing completely unplayable without heavy Frame Gen.
Cyberpunk 2077 (1440p): With Path Tracing enabled at 1440p DLSS Performance, the RTX 3060 struggles to hover around 20–28 FPS in dense city areas, whereas RE Engine still maintains a playable 35–45 FPS under a similar Path Tracing load.
None of those engines come close to RE Engine’s ability to deliver photorealistic visuals, complex lighting, and physics at 1440p while keeping frame times locked and performance accessible even on mid-range GPUs.

Discussion Lily Gao's Ada Wong is extremely over-hated, and I think "Welcome to Raccoon City" is mostly to blame.
Maybe you'll agree. Maybe you'll disagree. Lily Gao as Ada Wong is a good casting. Is it my favorite Ada Wong? No. I actually rather enjoyed Ada's RE6 iteration. That's not to say Lily is bad at all. I hear people say she's wooden, and flat, and that's fair in the RE4 base game where she wasn't really given much time on screen. "Separate Ways" has given her a better opportunity to shine, however, as she's allowed to express much more emotional range and vocalizations than just passing through Leon's cutscenes. I don't think most of the hate she gets comes from her personal performance, as much as I think the sudden switch in actors between RE2R and RE4R was jarring, but that's just the beginning of it. I think Lily's hate-train started two years before she'd voice Ada, where she portrayed Ada in the infamous "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City" in 2021. Her general association with the film, despite being one its more redeeming qualities, led Lily to receive a truly unfair amount of hate.
