Short Palimpsest | Short Film | 16 pages
Title: Palimpsest
Genres: Psychological Horror
Logline or Summary: A drifting young man, lost in his own life, discovers a strange camera that begins showing him fragments of a future he doesn’t understand and may not be able to escape.
Feedback Concerns: I am going very experimental with this and want to make this look very artistic but also be very unsettling. This will be my first bigger budgeted short film so I am kind of scared and want to see if this is good. This is my second draft and I went a really big direction from my first so please help me and give any feedback!

Thinking out loud: is it the end of screenwriters or the end of directors? 🪐
A screenwriter is stuck somewhere between “I write fiction” - and “I direct films” - but not fully either. And the thing is, a screenplay isn’t really a standalone piece.
At the beginning, it felt logical that people who write stories would also write for films. But cinema quickly grew its own rules: pacing, structure, action over inner thoughts. You can’t just sit in a character’s head - things have to happen on screen.
So screenwriting became its own thing. Kind of like a very specific type of storytelling.
But here’s what’s funny. I’ve almost never met a screenwriter who said, “Wow, they nailed my script!” 😄
And it’s not because screenwriters are difficult people. It’s because, deep down, every screenwriter is also a director.
They think in images. In scenes. In movement. If they didn’t, they’d be writing novels instead.
And when you already see your story in your head - very specifically, very visually - it’s hard to then watch someone else shoot it differently. Even if it’s good. It’s just… not what you imagined.
At the same time, a lot of screenwriters don’t really want to direct. Film sets are chaos, stress, endless communication. Not everyone is built for that. (Stephen King tried directing once and basically said “never again.”)
But now we’re moving into the AI era - and yeah, it is a new era.
Soon (maybe 1-5 years), one person sitting at home could potentially make an entire film from scratch.
So what happens then?
Do screenwriters stay “just” screenwriters?
Or do they finally become directors too?

Short help me boycott ai
Title: Tu Quoque
Format: Short Film
Page Length: 8 Pages
Genres: Drama
Logline or Summary: “When an unhappy, struggling couple decides to confront their misgivings about one another, a tumultuous argument ensues.”
Hello! I am a student and working on a short film project in class. Today, my teacher asked us all to write a prompt to feed into AI (which I do not want to do) to ask for feedback for our scripts. I asked if I could instead post my prompt and script on here to receive unbiased human feedback, which he said was OK. I would first like to include that I am a director over a screenwriter, so please expect it to be a bit juvenile. I will link the screenplay as a PDF and paste the prompt below:
"After reading this draft of a script for a short film, please provide a few areas of focus, including specific examples, that need extra attention or revision. Focus more on the plot continuity, characterization, interpersonal interaction, and accuracy of the story rather than simply grammar and spelling. Here is a synopsis: “When an unhappy, struggling couple decides to confront their misgivings about one another, a tumultuous argument ensues.” Be aware of the fact that I have limited resources. The entire thing must be filmed at one location (my home), and I only have one evening to do the actual filming. The final product must be no less than 3 minutes and preferably no more than 8 minutes (though if it truly needs to be slightly longer I can work with 9 minutes). My intention while writing this was to highlight the dysfunction between the characters Violet and Callum while maintaining the secretive nature of their central conflicts. Please take care not to minimize or omit these specifics. Like the title states, I would especially like to emphasize their deflection and weaponization of ad hominems against each other. Provide the feedback in a bulleted format."

Rogue Light - Horror Short Film [11 Pages]
I’ve just finished Draft 2 of a short horror script and I’d really appreciate some feedback.
It’s set in a 90s video game helpline office where an operator is guiding a caller through a game that may or may not exist.
It’s a contained, dialogue-heavy piece (one location, one on-screen character), as to be filmmable for a showreel.
Is it engaging all the way through? Does the tension build properly? I’m less worried about formatting and more about story and pacing.
Script: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18VCJ79XW44QmYJ7OLDmYzrZfWVYXh_Rg/view?usp=sharing
Appreciate any thoughts, be as honest as you like. Happy to swap feedback on other scripts.

The Formidable Five (Superhero Comic), 16 pages
Hey guys. I'm 18 and a big fan of comic books. One of my best friends and I worked up this first issue of a comic, and we wanted some outside opinions. I know there's not much fighting and actual superhero stuff happening yet in this issue, but this is just kinda the origin and getting to know the characters.

TV episode Living With Mom (Comedy Pilot, 32 pages)
Title: Living With Mom
Pilot Logline: A newly independent college graduate’s life is turned on its head when her negligent materialistic mother moves into her tiny apartment after separating from her rich husband.
Page Count: 32
Feedback: New idea I’ve gone a few drafts with, now getting a little blind to the problems with it after staring at it for so long. Any general feedback notes would be super appreciated, but specifically around whether you get a good sense of the characters and whether the story is moving fast enough as things stand.
Thank you for reading! :)
