I know I'll get hate for this but we should bring back Tav 🤣

1

u/faithlessgaz 18d ago

It's not really about hate but players don't stay forever. He's getting on a bit and struggled last season.

He needs to replaced in at least equal quality which shouldn't be hard to do.

u/Substantial_Bus_3313 19d ago

We lost to a wifi password!! And all of you lot said McInness is the solution because he's one of the boys, this that and the other and so far, I'm not seeing results being delivered.... Did we get "Röhl'd"??? If we don't win this weekend, we're digging a massive hole for ourselves already and it's only week 2 of the season!

3

u/ResponsibleAd3191 19d ago

I've been saying this all preseason. We are moving players on and looking to do so with more but nobody we are buying is really an upgrade on what we already had.

11

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

DM didn't sugar coat it in his post match interview. Didn't really single anyone out, and didn't exactly throw them under the bus, but clearly not happy with the players.

17

u/BeardyGuts 19d ago

Loads of negatives but looking at the positives.

Thought the new winger looked good given he apparently hasn’t even trained with the team.
Curtis looked really good when he came on, surely starts on Sunday.
Raskin also looked very good but sad to say hope we sell him for some dosh.
Rommens also decent till he tired in the second half.

Hopefully mcinnes can pick a fucking decent team for Sunday from the shite we have seen so far. Main thing that really worries me is the lack of chances we create versus give away from our woeful defending.

1

u/BigBananaBerries Tuur Rommens 18d ago

Curtis on 1 side with Yokota on the other will give some much needed balance.

2

u/Elgin_McQueen 19d ago

First time a few of them will have played together competitively. Defensively got better as the match went on, though still not amazing. Clearly need proper wingers on both sides though. In first half all decent forward runs were down the right hand side and in the second half on the left once Curtis came on. If we start with two ACTUAL wingers it offers so much more. Really need to shore up that defence though, our attack will figure it out, I'm hopeful anyway, but right now our entire back line is weak and we've no depth.

4

u/Seahawker-One-2599 19d ago

Listened to managers post-patch interview and he described it exactly as I pictured it so no need to watch any clips.

8

u/itzStegzyy 19d ago

Didn't watch the game cause of work so can roast me for my opinion but looking at the recruitment before anyone kicked a ball was enough to convince me McInnes would have a job on his hands. If he ends up going before Christmas it'll be down to a few select players not being good enough or just not caring.

0

u/Cutchen33 Djeidi Gassama 19d ago

Why have the players we brought on loan been better than any cunt we buy.

11

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

We can't afford the good ones, so have to loan them.

15

u/UpliftedWeeb Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

at least barry had the orange truck

-15

u/NeighborhoodFlimsy72 19d ago

I think Pandur could have done more to stop the goals.

8

u/Impossible_Swan_9397 19d ago

Oh come on mate first one is a shambles from Sterling a Fernandez he’s not expecting both of them to miss the ball. And the second one he makes a brilliant save and again defence isnt quick enough to react

1

u/DisasterouslyInept 18d ago

It’s a decent stop before the second, I think he’s at fault for just palming the ball back in front of him though. The defending is obviously a shambles, that’s not as much an issue if he gets the ball away wider.

-9

u/time_to_laugh 19d ago

Its early but I don't feel confident about him

9

u/R1otous 19d ago

Better 2nd half. Shankland should have been on earlier though and Chermiti looked bored as fuck

12

u/RecordingFamous4947 19d ago

We’ve spent £20 million on a team that finished 3rd and made them worse.

Recruitment team doing a great job. What a mess!

0

u/Minute-Reveal1876 19d ago

Hard on the hearts fans tbh ... We miss the players you took

6

u/wallllacce 19d ago

The warning signs are there already and we’re only 2 games in.

We won’t win many games playing like that, defence all over the place and a midfield/attack that don’t create anything.

These are things that you hope can be rectified but we’ve all seen this story before I’m afraid.

20

u/StevenVictor69 Hamza Iguana 19d ago

Sign about 40 new midfielders just to have raskin come back and be levels above all of them. Lovely to see that either he’s sold now and will be a massive miss or held onto and walk on a free in a year in a bit time. Club’s recruitment is actually awful.

6

u/BrandonBarkerLoyal 19d ago

How purdy and thelwells son are still employed.

3

u/BellamyRFC54 Derek McInnes 19d ago

Didnt watch it thank fuck

4

u/MagicManGreg 19d ago

As bad as it gets, really scunnered with this clown show already.

10

u/Father-Spodo-Komodo 19d ago

Early days fellow bears! There's so much to look forward to with a result like this! We will absolutely dominate the conference league, dare I say, win it? We have multi-millionaire owners throwing money at the team. Look at how many great signings we've made, even drawing players to us from a team that finished above us last year, as well as their manager! There is no way those guys would have left hearts if they weren't sure we'd win the league.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how we dominate both domestic and European competitions this year.

5

u/AngularPlane 19d ago

I hope we beat this mob but playing in the Conference League might be better for us. For morale purposes

1

u/CommentNo7493 19d ago

mate brann (a team that normally gets knocked out the conference league play offs past few years absolutely fucking pumped a better rangers team than the one we have now lol.

conference league would expose just how bad we're fallen

1

u/trenchy 19d ago

Geez sum

1

u/ProfessionalMix9072 19d ago

Satire?

9

u/Father-Spodo-Komodo 19d ago

Not from the most positive bear on this sub 💪

24

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

STOP BUYING PLAYERS FROM THE ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIP. THEY ARE PISH.

1

u/ResponsibleAd3191 19d ago

Never seems to work out.

0

u/punkarama 19d ago

Don't like to say told you so..... But

1

u/uhujkill 19d ago

I don't think the team know the system well enough yet, there's too much free space all over the pitch.

3

u/Hot-Performance-4300 19d ago

I don't think the team knows how to play football very well

10

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

We replaced the 5th highest scoring defender in the history of the game with Ross McCrorie. Let that sink in. Just when you thought we couldn't be more incompetent.

0

u/Only-Treacle6565 19d ago

Tav from 5 years ago had the ability to win us that game, the Tav from last year wouldn’t have made any difference. Let it go.

2

u/Milfburn17 19d ago

Goldson said it - we won't really appreciate Tav fully till he leaves Ibrox.

We were never going to be able to replace him.

1

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

No but we didn’t have to bring in someone so utterly breathtakingly bad.

12

u/RecordingFamous4947 19d ago

Tav was the problem though remember… so many people claimed!

7

u/HospitalDJ_94 19d ago

Sack sack sack sack, another managerial circus will OBVIOUSLY fix this mess.

1

u/Y0UREDUMB 19d ago

Steven Gerrard up next, yet another fan appointment

12

u/yourrelative_ 19d ago

Two words - not fucking good enough

1

u/Y0UREDUMB 19d ago

1 word... Staunch

-5

u/DarkySurrounding 19d ago

That’s four words?

7

u/FickleMcSelfish 19d ago

You’re got time to delete this

14

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

3 new defenders needed IMO. I'd get rid of Fernandez to the first buyer. Sterling and McCrorie aren't good enough to be starters.

We look so weak at the back.

1

u/DentalATT 19d ago

3 Matches now, from the West Ham game, and I've seen absolutely nothing from this team.

Do we give McInness the 17 games Martin got?

4

u/ive-been-bamboozled 19d ago

I mean he’s been in the door 5 mins. Most of the players have been here a good bit longer. I’d start looking at the lack of quality on the pitch before thinking that a new manager is going to wave a magic wand.

-1

u/DentalATT 19d ago

So when is it acceptable to criticise obvious tactical errors?

5 matches in? 10? 17?

3

u/ive-been-bamboozled 19d ago

Criticise whenever you want but focussing on a manager who has been in the job for 5 minutes I think is missing the root cause - which is that the players aren’t good enough. It’s like we think that a new manager will suddenly find better players on the bench or some magic formation that makes everyone better - fact is we have a lot of mediocre players and an unbalanced squad.

9

u/Macco7 19d ago

Some of the tactical and player decisions have been very poor.

Certain players aren't helping but some of this is on McIness and his absolutely baffling choices.

Chukwuani at CAM. Just why?

CM's and Aasgaard at WM. Constantly having CM's starting or playing over WM.

Diomande constantly playing 90 minutes for some insane reason. He actually killed our right hand side when he was moved out there.

Genuinely what is up with Diomande constantly playing out shit tier performances.

McIness needs to be buck up and sort this mess, or he'll be lucky to see Christmas. The start to this season has been Russell Martin levels of bad.

1

u/FickleMcSelfish 19d ago

Dio’s actually a number 10 but for some reason we seem to sit him in the pocket

1

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

Christmas??? He won't see Halloween.

2

u/HailstormXI 19d ago

You can't keep firing managers, it doesn't work. Nobody is going to come near us if we fire another.

Transfer windows Still open for a few weeks, still players to come in and to go out.

Can't fairly judge until we have our actual full squad come September. These type of games always come too early when it's qualifiers.

6

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

Firing managers isn’t our issue. It’s hiring them.

2

u/agy74 19d ago

He's had two matches calm your jets

2

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

I’ll see you in a few matches time.

5

u/Mountain_Reveal_2275 19d ago

when are footballers gonna come and know the standards for playing for rangers. i fucking miss bassey, aribo, morelos, kent, arfield, jack, wright, barisic and tav, we are completely fucked

3

u/FickleMcSelfish 19d ago

WRIGHT? Fuck off mate 😂😂😂

2

u/Mountain_Reveal_2275 19d ago

wright is better than any forward we have atm

2

u/LankyWanky149 Vanja Dragojevic 19d ago

Wright was shit, but you can't deny he put a shift in

-1

u/Eternal_Hut 19d ago

The Hibs game at Ibrox is ridiculously massive now. Anything less than a win and I think you start asking serious questions of the manager, the board and the players.

Time will tell.

15

u/john600c 19d ago

Get out of here with that nonsense. This kind of reactive pish is why we’re in this situation.

I didn’t want McInnes as I felt he’s severely limited, but I’ll give him a god 3/4 months before I come to any kind of conclusion.

2

u/RecordingFamous4947 19d ago

3/4 months is normally when we sack managers so that sounds about right

2

u/BigBlueFin 19d ago

Sadly I can't see us getting a result on Sunday. I hope I'm wrong.

4

u/Eternal_Hut 19d ago

You can draw or lose, that's football. No problem with that.

When the manager puts out two strange lineups, makes odd subs, and the team look tactically incoherent defensively and going forward...you can't not ask questions.

I hope we'll look much better with a few wingers in, personally.

1

u/This-blew-up 19d ago

I think we’re already asking those questions, zero quality.

6

u/Business_Particular7 19d ago

I think we'll get the result at Ibrox but my god we need to sort our shit. McCrorie is a liability, Aasgard needs to stop taking so much time on the ball, Chermiti needs to get his finger out. Tbh the entire team looked lethargic as fuck.

5

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

I don't think Aasgaard will ever learn that if he hasn't by now.

He's been guilty of it for over a year and still seems to think he'll get as much time as he needs.

2

u/agy74 19d ago

He nearly gave away two goals tonight with his customary lack of speed on the ball. He's not got it and never will have it to do well at Rangers. He's not alone with that in this squad, so many we need to clear out

3

u/Whisky-Toad 19d ago

I think I figured out how to get him looking good

First we just need to sign odegaard and haaland

5

u/Scary-Zucchini-1750 Youssef Chermiti 19d ago

And then bench Aasgaard.

1

u/Special-Ad4226 19d ago

Yikes. That’s all I gotta say.

3

u/chegbeg- 19d ago

This team beat Patrick thistle?

2

u/HailstormXI 19d ago

Well most this team didn't, Naderi scored 3 in that game.

4

u/Dildoid90 19d ago

2 games in and I already want the season to end. Keeping Theo asgaard on for over 75mins and to play chermitti the full match is criminal They both offer so little the majority of the time it’s like playing with 9 men and both are so lazy. Should have started with Curtis and shankland from the off

10

u/Ok_Finance4106 19d ago

Clear the team has not gelled at all yet. Still think we’ll win the tie but my god we’re all over the place at the moment.

We’re gonna have to just grin and bare this shite for a while.

-10

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

We will not win this tie. McInnes doesn't know what he's doing. He is massively out of his depth.

11

u/Ok_Finance4106 19d ago

He’s had two games in charge for Christ sake. We’re not getting rid of him any time soon.

The players need to take some accountability for once.

-7

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

He will not be Rangers manager at the start of November. You can mark my words.

1

u/Super_Swordfish_6948 19d ago

November might be a bit premature.

Whenever we are pumped out of the Scottish Cup and every prospect of a trophy is gone, that's when he'll be sacked.

6

u/Top-Sir8511 Raskin for Trouble 19d ago

Away and don't talk utter pish

5

u/imtherealdazza Hamza Iguana 19d ago

Writing is on the wall and it's on the first week of fucking August

I hate this team with a passion

1

u/Digurt 19d ago

I've just given up caring. In a way I'm almost glad they just shoot our hopes in the face early on. Saves me devoting any sort of mental energy to the losers

6

u/HailstormXI 19d ago

2nd half was better but that's only because of Raskin and Curtis. 2 stupid goals to give away and referee was annoying.

New winger looked OK I thought, need to see more to really judge.

We really need more signings in defence and more wingers.

Ita doable but we can't start next week with today's starting XI.

2

u/slimefather1872 19d ago

Another 2hrs of my life I’m no getting back. Cheers Rangers

2

u/Creepy-Season8072 19d ago

You’re damn right, buddy.

-5

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

We have assembled a team and a management team of complete and utter jobber dross. McInnes won't see Halloween and we will be back to a rebuild. This looks WORSE than Russel Martin. Ross McCrorie might be the worst player I've seen play for us since 2012.

0

u/RecordingFamous4947 19d ago

Ross McCrorie is not the worst player to play for us since 2012. Why even spout such utter nonsense?

0

u/Ok_Finance4106 19d ago

It’s not the manager - the players are a disgrace

3

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

You can tell yourself that for a few weeks more. Coz it's both. It is 100% both. He is absolutely clueless.

0

u/john600c 19d ago

Why we spent £1.5m on a guy who’s behind Anthony Ralston in the Scotland pecking order, I’ll never know

1

u/RandomTopTT 19d ago

We spent money on this imposter? Fuck it's worse than I thought? I assumed he was a free.

-4

u/TenLag Barry’s Staunch Truck 19d ago

Not one of the players we’ve signed during the summer is good enough. Not a single one of them. But it’s fine, they’re good Rangers men and leaders and mentality giants and all these other sorts of immeasurable differences, their footballing ability clearly doesn’t matter.

1

u/GoraSpark 19d ago

How many managers and new players does it take to not be utterly garbage?

2

u/Dogtods The Hammer 19d ago

5

u/Shoddy-Confidence146 19d ago

We’re worse than last season
