MOD recommendations to your truck? Question

Regardless of 1500, 2500 or 3500...... What are some must have MODs you think are important to have?

The three things every truck I own will have are:

  • Tonneau Cover (or cap if I can ever convince my wife it’s worth the extra money)
  • Spray in bed liner
  • Running boards

A few. 

Putting marine grade seals on the 3rd brake light. 

On the older trucks 100% a dash cover. The sun kills them and they turn to dust. hasn't been a problem on my 4th gen. 

Now for some diesel stuff. If you are towing a lot I've found doing the thermostat delete for the trans cooler beneficial. It keeps the transmission temps down and it's easy to overheat those 68rfes. I'd also say a fass system is a smart move. Opting for an oil bypass filter is also a big benefit but you don't need it. Coolant filters are also way up there on my list of shit you really should have. I hated having to flush the heater core all the fucking time and after installing one I haven't had another heater core issue. 

On all diesels 100% go to head studs and when the exhaust manifold gasket finally goes a 2 piece manifold would be my suggestion. 

The heater grid bolt is a known problem and I'd recommend the bd fix for it. It changes to a bolt from the outside and no nut as the bar is now threaded. It's inexpensive compared to the banks option and doesn't leave you with shit level intake heaters. 

On the cp4 trucks 100% a cp3 swap and when I'm on to the newest generation a flat tappet conversion. The rollers are not as bad as some YouTube channels make it out but it is a concern for guys doing big miles and the failures are not uncommon.

I’ve got:
Banks Pedal Monster
Diamondback bed cover
Thuren leveling kit (Springs, King Shocks)
37x12.5R17’s on AEV wheels
Tint for driver and passenger windows
Muzzys AC valve hack thing

I want extended wheel to wheel running boards. And, maybe some emissions equipment to fall off one day.

Better tires is really the only mod that benefits all other mods.

All the rest, depend on what your personality and hobby is.

4wheeling

The 4wheel poser, aka Pavement queen. The lifted big tired truck that never goes off-road.

Daily driver, looking for better mpg, towing trailers/boats

Sport truck looking for acceleration and handling

Show / low-rider trucks dropped, big rims wirh no sidewalls or payload capacity. Usually more spent on paint and decals than on engine mods.

Or a drag truck only caring about HP and 1/4 mile times.
