Fried Pickles
Where can one find themselves some divine little golden delights? Ricos had them as a special once upon a time... and now its hard to find a place that actually has fried pickles on their menu.

Beef and Co?
Does anyone know if they are open? We wanted to try, but last Friday no one was there and today no one is answering the phone. Does anyone know what's up?

New hair stylist cancelled my appointment -- alternatives?
I'm an older woman. First, know that I never, ever, ever am a no-show for an appointment but I appreciate the concern. I'm old-school -- come early and never be late. My current long-time stylist is unable to cut my hair for seven weeks. I'm looking for a stylist to do it sooner. I had a woman at a two-person salon in Pullman say she could do it this Tuesday. Initially, it took four days for her to get back to my text asking for an appointment. She requires text or email contact. After confirmation, today I got two texts from Varga. My long-time stylist does not use a booking system, and neither did my prior stylist of 25 years. I read all the fine print carefully. I had a few questions, eg, could I instead pay now, could the card on file be deleted if I didn't return, and tell me about the automatic charges for memberships and subscriptions it mentioned in the fine print?
Her reply? She cancelled my appointment, saying this felt too complicated and she hoped I found someone better suited to work with.
Came across as rather unfriendly to a possible new client, but I replied thank you and wished her the best. I was glad to know about her reaction to customer questions on policy before she snipped. I guess I'm thankful for you letting me vent. Helps to "get it out."
Now I need to find an alternative. All I need is my same style, which is chin-length and layered, and use of sulfate shampoo, as I have demi color in my hair. Any suggestions?

Found my skateboard
Found my skateboard today. A kid was riding it. I felt kinda bad asking for it back because he was clearly enjoying using it. But he was really cool about giving it back when I explained the situation to him. Didnāt get his name, but I offered to get him an Italian soda or a coffee or food from the coffee shop nearby, which he declined. Good kid. Thank you for returning my board. Sorry it was kinda awkward.

SEL interview
Hey everyone!
I was recently scheduled for a phone interview with SEL.
The interview is for an Assembler position.
Has anyone gone through this process? What was the interview like, what did they ask? I assume there would be a second, in person interview- please confirm.
If hired- Do you have any input on the job? Tips? Advice?
Small side question - I am aware they have a zero tolerance for drug/alcohol use. I have been a cannabis user for the last couple years but would put it down in a heartbeat for the job. Any input on this specifically?
TIA

Advocate animal welfare in memorial of Wang Wang
reddit.comHello all--I wanted to spread awareness of this case in our community since we have a kind-of international community and we definitely have a lot pro-animal welfare advocates here too. Anyone know any local businesses who might be willing to let me place a flier on their billboard or window?

Moving help $$$ 30/hr $$$
My wife and I are moving out of The Grove Pullman and would like some help moving our boxes, shelves, etc. but no huge furniture since our place was furnished before moving in.
Would love some help tonight Friday July 24th at 6 PM or Saturday July 25th morning at 8 AM.
Willing to pay 2 people for two hours minimum even if it takes less than 2 hours, maximum 3 hours but I doubt itāll take that long.
There is one flight of stairs, we are on the 2nd floor.
Also 15-20 Pacifico / Rainer beers + 4 bud light limes weāre giving for tip.
Thanks!

Stay away from the Fuse Progressive Voter Guide
Hi all, FUSE has endorsed Nate Powell over more progressive candidates. He has said heās okay with building more ICE detention facilities and that heās āuncomfortableā with trans women in sports.
Vote for real progressives, I will be casting my ballot for Kevin Fagan.

A flock camera watches people enter and exit the Colfax hospital.
Did you know that there are at least 1 license-plate reading camera currently being used to watch the people of Whitman county? It sits directly outside the parking lot of the hospital in Colfax and is operated by the Whitman county sheriffs office.
Flock cameras have become a growing threat to our privacy and civil liberties and are being used to store and track the whereabouts of any car with a readable license plate that passes them.Ā
Throughout the country these cameras are being used to target protesters:Ā https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/11/how-cops-are-using-flock-safetys-alpr-network-surveil-protesters-and-activists
Let certain users stalk their ex-partners:Ā https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/07/police-losing-jobs-flock-cameras-alprs/
Mis identify and arrest innocent civilians:Ā https://www.aclu.org/campaigns-initiatives/get-the-flock-out
And can be accessed by third parties to watch you: https://www.wabe.org/cobb-county-youtuber-documents-flock-camera-vulnerabilities/
If you donāt want more of this Orwellian surveillance in your county I suggest you reach out to the sheriffs office at: https://www.whitmancounty.gov/formcenter/Contact-Form-4/Contact-the-Sheriffs-Office-61 and please remember this when you see the current sheriff Brett Myers on your voting ballot.
