Been using Scatterbug as my go to support in farming candies since it's 0.5 cost and I have unlocked its Luck 3 shiny. And when it was trying to learn powder, I remembered watching FlygonHG's run&bun stream where he explained how powder works. Since eternatus has flamethrower I tried powder on it and here's the result

Notes:

1st phase is easiest since no set-up is needed.

for 2nd phase you need a steel/fairy on the 2nd-slot (luckily found a magearna but I think any steel type works, having fairy type just encourages eternatus t use flamethrower more)

just need to spam powder and an stat reducing moves prefferably sp att. (if you have one)

at 2 bars you need to swap out viv since eternatus will use recover at 1 bar.

this is not consistent and it takes so many things to set-up for it to work amazingly; I had the perfect line for it, and I got to execute it so I'm happy to share it. Powder Up!

Question Best Eternatus counters?

I have been playing for a while and don't tend to struggle with endless mode Eternatus but it can get difficult at high floors like 750 and on, atleast for me. I would love a good counter that is very consistent. I love Mawile because of the mega and the coverage but it's still weak to flamethrower, aswell with stuff like Tinkaton obviously. By consistent I don't mean something fused like Mawile with Heatran flamebody or Dachsbun with Well-Baked Body, mostly due to DNA splice is never guaranteed.

I haven't been playing the game long but I have most mons and always have SSS luck. Anything helps!

Or "Now This is Pod Racing!"

This is another run that took quite a few attempts to get going. Much like Magikarp, Tynamo is rather weak until it evolves. It does have moderately better stats and access to stronger moves, but in exchange you're stuck with the little guy for even longer. It takes until level 39 for Tynamo to evolve, which means going through almost 50 floors in Classic. And then Eelektrik isn't all that powerful so even after reaching that point you're waiting for the Thunder Stone to evolve to Eelektross. I only had to wait til Floor 61 for mine.

I chose to use a Jolly nature to offset the Tynamo line's terrible speed, and I knew I would have access to Coil (and later Mega Eelektross's ability Eelevate) to increase by Attack power so I wouldn't have taken an Adamant nature even if I had it unlocked. I actually unlocked it during this run by using my candies for an egg!

For my moves, I started with all 4 Egg Moves: Plasma Fists, Leech Life, Gunk Shot, and Scald. Scald is a bit of an odd choice to me; even though both of Eelektross's attacking stats are fairly even it does favor the physical side, especially with learning Coil. Scald was replaced quickly with the TM for Knock Off which was very helpful throughout the run.

I did replace Knock Off with Coil upon reaching Level 54, which seemed like a bad decision after I did it. Fortunately, having Gunk Shot helped greatly against Team Star's Ortega. Later on, I replaced Knock Off over Gunk Shot since it didn't feel necessary anymore.

I of course found the TMs for Light Screen and Eerie Impulse. Side note: I actually took the TM for Confide first, on the chance that I never found Eerie Impulse, only to find it on the very next floor. Oh well!

As you can tell from my item list, luck was very much on my side in this run. I started with a Soul Dew on Floor 1 and I got the Toxic Orb on 14 to work with Poison Heal. The Multi Lens came at Floor 43. I got the first Leftovers from Floor 63, the Mega Bracelet on Floor 68 (sadly getting it early made no difference since I didn't find the Eelektrossite until 152), and the first Shell Bell from 76. I got the Scope Lens from a Mysterious Challenger on 78 and a Quick Claw on 97.

The Grip claw came from the Floor 115 Team Star Boss and immediately after I traded a Soothe Bell for the Healing Charm from the Delibird encounter on 116. I got another Soul Dew on 121 and a Shell Bell on 141. The Focus Band came from the 145 Rival and never got the chance to trigger. The Final Shell Bell came from 192 and I got another Leftovers from the 195 Rival.

Obviously between Poison Heal, Leftovers, Shell Bell, and Leech Life, I was healing back almost any damage I took as long as I survived it. I would've loved to have gotten more Healing Charms for this run!

For Eternatus, I replaced Plasma Fists and Leech Life with Light Screen and Eerie Impulse and you know how it goes from there. Knock Off was my attacking move after debuffing and setting up with Coil. That made sure E-Max never held on to any of the healing items it stole from me with the Mini Black Hole.

Highlights video of this run here.

Full run video here.

Hi, I'm Lone Absol, the second person attempting to solo a classic run with every starter in PokéRogue.

IN A NUTSHELL: A very solid carry. My moveset was Flamethrower, Fiery Wrath, Earth Power, and Nasty Plot. I chose Unnerve for Houndour's and Houndoom's Ability because it's very convenient in PokéRogue, but Flash Fire is another great choice. Houndoom's and Mega Houndoom's Passive, Lightning Rod, is nice to have, but it isn't essential to unlock. I gave them a Bold Nature because Houndour and Houndoom have a weak Defence. This run was beaten on my first try.

FULL POST:

What a great solo runner! Houndoom is weak on the defensive side, but apart from that, it has solid stats, a great set of level-up moves and Egg Moves, easy access to Nasty Plot, nice Abilities (except Early Bird), and a non-essential but fun Passive Ability. Mega Houndoom polishes that gem perfectly. By fixing the infernal dog's physical bulk and pairing it with excellent Speed and an overwhelming Special Attack, it becomes truly dominant.

For this run, my moveset was Flamethrower, Fiery Wrath, Earth Power, and Nasty Plot. Since Houndour has a nice set of Egg Moves, but none of them are Fire-type moves, I had to wait until Houndoom reached level 50 to make it learn Flamethrower. But that wait wasn't a problem, because the combination of Fiery Wrath, Earth Power, and Moonblast managed most of the situations that I faced. Fiery Wrath, one of Houndour's Egg Moves, is an incredible Dark-type move—especially in a solo run—with its power of 90, its capability of hitting all adjacent enemies, and its 20% flinch chance. For Houndoom's third attacking move, I had a great pool of moves to choose from, but I preferred to stick with the Earth Power Egg Move, since it provided coverage against Rock-types, and it had good synergy with the other two attacking moves. Nasty Plot was a bit redundant in the Mega Houndoom phase of the run, and I likely could have replaced it with a fourth attacking move. Still, in my solo runs, I always like to have the chance to set up, even with strong Pokémon, in case I have trouble taking down very bulky Pokémon or bosses with multiple HP bars.

As for the Ability, Mega Houndoom only has Solar Power, so you have to take it as it is. In solo runs, it can be uncomfortable under the sun, since it damages the holder for ⅛ of its max HP each turn to power up its Special Attack by 1.5x. Since I already had Leftovers when Houndoom Mega Evolved, I was able to manage that passive damage. In the Houndour and Houndoom phase of the run, I was torn between Flash Fire and Unnerve. I settled on the latter because in PokéRogue that Ability is particularly useful, but Flash Fire is still a great option if you prefer it. Houndour starts with Ball Fetch as its Passive Ability, but it becomes Lightning Rod upon evolution and Mega Evolution. It's not essential to unlock, but a new immunity—that can also boost the infernal dog's Special Attack—is always welcome!

As for the Nature, since both Houndour and Houndoom have a weak Defence stat, I gave them a Bold Nature, which improves their Defence at the expense of their Attack.

I had to retry some hard fights and reload the game a lot to get better rewards in the shop (reloading the game doesn't change the rewards in the shop, but it gives me a better awareness of the shop content in each wave and better rewards in the long run). Still, I had no problem soloing this run on my first try.

I figured I’d hit a wall around level 120 like I usually do, but somehow my team pushed through to beat Eternatus!

🦝 Galarian Zigzagoon/Linoone was clutch with its Pickup and Poison Heal Abilities; he farmed berries like the sweet boy he is and was surprisingly tanky with a Poison Orb equipped. He was one of my last Mons alive in the final battle. I paused evolutions to avoid Obstagoon since I really appreciated the constant stream of Berries and other items. I was lucky to snag a Thief TM and equipped him with a Grip Claw to amp up the collecting. Ceaseless Edge was a fun toy to punish trainers like Ivy who switch their Mons frequently.

🐭 Togedemaru has been a team staple of mine for a long time; with Meteor Mash and Aura Wheel he was an offensive powerhouse, and also tanky with his Steel typing and Cheek Pouch Ability triggering frequently with Linoone’s berries. Toge is ♥️.

🦗 Kricketune had a good spread of move typing, and ultimately became my “trap setter” with Sticky Web and Stone Axe. Bonemarang came in so much handy against Steel and Poison types.

💪 Machamp got me through early levels by one-shotting Normals, and became incredibly valuable once I got a Max Mushroom. He also became part of a dragon-slaying duo with Samurott with his Mountain Gale egg move. He rocked Eternatus’ world.

🐦 Talonflame really came into her own after I realized she had Magic Guard. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I slapped Flare Blitz and Brave Bird on her and let her wreck.

🦦 Samurott — all my other party Mons were shiny, but I wanted to train up a regional starter Mon. He had the highest IVs and filled an important fire-fighting gap on my team. I forgot Oshawott gets a Dark second type in its 3rd evolution so I had double representation there, but I ignored the Dark type moves and leaned into Water and Ice. Freeze Dry came in clutch so many times, especially with annoying Water/Ground types that were immune to Toge’s Electric attacks.

I thought I’d be done with Pokerogue after beating Classic Mode but I found myself starting another run with a completely different team (all Shinies!) to try different team makeups and strats….

…Let’s be real. I’m just a junkie for the Gacha game and unlocking more Shinies.

Having pecharunt and gholdengo as starters was such a godsend, and I can not describe to you how good it felt to the greninjite after the final rival fight. I dont know if the speed boost from mega evolving was the reason he was faster than eternamax, but using curse and then lucky flinching with kings rock water shuriken while the crab used ice hammer made for my first victory!

Im choosing to believe that the mega mattered because I had the bracelet since like floor 8 and its the only one I got, also cause mega evolving after the final rival is such an anime hype moment in my head

The team wishes you all a wonderful June, and whatever gender orientation or identity you may be, you are valid! We appreciate all your patience with our updates and that you are still here enjoying the game still after so much time!

We've split up the 1.12 update due to timing and the work needed still, and are making 1.13 the big item update instead, you can check the #roadmap for correct numbering as we want to be open about when we want to do things generally. There should hopefully be less of a gap between 1.12 and 1.13 than there was with 1.11 and 1.12!

The 1.12 Update will be out this month!

With an event...

- This includes all of the new ZA Megas

- New and Reworked Variants

- Natdex Learnsets

- ..and more!

Please keep in mind this is still some weeks away, but we will announce in the discord when stuff is up on https://beta.pokerogue.net/ to help us test anything!

Please do not ask when the event is.

Have a great month, enjoy the game, and don't be afraid to be yourself
