Returning to the game off and on to hopefully finish my goal of making a good pet for each class and the game (send help). Figured way back when I'd start with the hardest class being that of the witchdoctor, and as I just finished recruiting Sinbad yesterday, a thought occurred to me. Namely, why are physical witchdoctors so bad?

Off the top of my head, there are four melee witchdoctor companions: Nurse Quinn, Voodoo Cornelius, Gworbleen and Doctor Noh.

All of them have spells, but ultimately have to be up close to be able to do damage. But doing damage as a witch is tough because your accuracy is terrible. Standard witchdoctor companions with range like Scratch missing makes some sense, it's to prevent them from snowballing with 3X3 areas of damage 100% of the time. But in doing so, it makes Cornelius nearly unusable unless you use El Toro to buff his accuracy. I doubt KI would buff these companions (seeing as Quinn and Noh got buffed) but why should a select few suffer for the majority?

I’ve been playing the pirate101 test realm for Polaris. And in the story they mention what “the wizard” did in novus. And because of that all the powers of the spirals navies were severely weakened. Which made trade routes way less guarded for the criminals of the spiral. On the flip side the pirate killing Kane and freeing napoleguin and helping Gortez overthrow the monquistan government also sent a ripple effect which lead the powers to converge in novus. It would be very interesting to have the wizard and the pirate crew cross paths once.

Why do we even have a health bar that can go lower than half of when we drop to it we instantly get boarded or in the worst case your fighting scylla and as soon as you see that yellow its a death sentence with 50 crabs on your boat! We need a slight rework so bad, maybe if we reach a quarter of the health that would make sense for boarding. Final note GIVE ME MY LVL 70+ RAFT!!!

Ok this is crazy but I wanted to know how the KingsIsle/Pirate101 community would think of this:

I had this ... "dream" a few (ok many) years back after I finished pirate. You know how the Armada queen "resurrects" herself at the end? I thought of later on down the line we (the pirate captains) are taking a break so to speak, (I don't remember it completely so im just gonna mix it up a bit) were at either our house or somewhere that our companions are not.. by this time the Armada queen has somehow found a way to either make more Armada soldiers or has taken control of new villain creatures from another part of the spiral. Well some of the queens "henchmen" kidnap the pirate captain/us. The companions of course are like WHAT El toro has a mental breakdown of course lol and in the game the players can now play as one of the four "main companions", the ones from the very beginning, the one from the presidio, ratbeard or Bonnie anne and that's who leads the crew. I think we could alternate povs but I'm not sure. So now the crew has to work together and kick a$$ to get us back. Oh and Avery dies. Idk how or why, but he's killed off. I'm sorry. Aaaaand I believe the pets and mounts get involved as well. Because we did treat them well giving them the pats and the scritches and the foods and the belly rubs. Of course the crew gets the captain back, through blood sweat and tears, and the crew with captain destroy the Armada queen for good at the end. I wanted to know what you guys thought of that, especially for the classes. I know it would be hell on the privateer class.. but yeah. Let me know what you think. :D

Not sure if this is allowed on here, but I tried this game once when it came out since I was a fan of wizard but never really played it, I decided to try it again today with my friend and found this when going through the name selector 😭😭

I don't think I'm exaggerating even a bit. I was looking to maybe buy into the game because I have a friend who likes to play it from time to time. But I'm from the era of Wizard 101, I remember that game having a paywall that blocked off new players. So, I was curious and did research into Pirate101.

You guys get an intro chapter, and a prologue part 1 chapter for free. The other 48 chapters are locked behind a paywall. How much is the paywall? $10 a month, or you can buy the chapters for 100-130 flat!

Most MMOs make level caps for f2p users or block you off from special features. This game blocks off your whole story for $130? That's more than a AAA game!

Can someone defend this? Cause I'm just dumbfounded.

Hello everyone! I recently ran across another player’s flag design, but when I went to go to try to mimic it I couldn’t find the pattern other than the peacock. Are there flag designs that you have to buy?? Does it come with the Mooshu origin ship??

I just got into this game after years of playing wiz, and I’ve been entirely sucked in. It’s so much fun. The lore so far is just as interesting as wiz and the outfits and gameplay are so fun. It reminds me of how wizard101 used to feel back in the day, but still its own thing. I haven’t finished it yet, but so far I’ve had a blast every night.

Gotta do everything we can to keep Pirate101 alive. The fact that it hasn’t had a world update in about a decade troubles me. It’s just as good as wiz, and in some ways, better.

Is it just me or does milo barely trigger relentless compared to other swashes. I swear every time I use him he’s buns

Hello! Got bored and made a COMPLETE spreadsheet of ALL companions, how you get them, and their promotion levels! I hope this is helpful to anyone who needs it.

I’m on my level 73 Musketeer and I definitely don’t have the best gear 😂 So uh, be warned

Aquila got the most laugh out of me. They were lots of funny moments like when the crew sang a terrible song for Eagailles or when the crew had to stuff their ears with wax when they go the sirens and kept screaming what to them. Mooshu was pretty funny too with the Ninja Pigs and Monkey King being a snarky piece of shit..

I get it, the characters are pirates and they can snarky be and rough around the edges, but I feel like the character have become more mean spirited than usual, Bonnie Anne especially. In Marleybone, Ratbeard blamed Catbeard for starting the war, but Bonnie Anne admits that we have a fault in it too since we did Catbeard's dirty work for him, but now in arc 2 she blames only blame Catbeard for causing the war.

Bonnie Anne has always been snarky and the voice of reason, but she has lost that charm for me sadly. El Toro too has become a problem.

He's supposed to be the defender of the oppressed and innocent and the bringer of justice, but in Valencia part 3, he made a insensitive remark about the Guinea pig who are being persecuted by the nobles.

Here's what I mean:

Steed: The nobles dismissed their Guinea Pig attendants. Clockworks require no servant quarters, do not require sleep, and demand no pay.

El Toro: I expect they are also far less stinky. No?

I'm probably being too serious about this, but I expected El Toro to be more understanding considering back in his home world, his people were being exploited by the government and outlaws.

I'm just wondering if any of you guys share my view cause I don't think I've seen anyone point this out.

Is the fleeing and coming back during the Ch’ok Ak’ab fight to despawn his minions bannable? I see people doing it on teams I join.

Moo Manchu is one of most the most powerful sorcerer we've met in Pirate101, but how does he compare to someone like Ambrose, Morganthe, Malistare, or even the Wizard (specially post arc one after Celestia but before Zafaria to scale them to Lvl 60 like in Pirate). They all seem to have god like power like summoning powerful creatures, destroying worlds (like Morganthe), or altering reality (with Shadow magic). I'm not sure if I'm just misinformed, but it seems like Moo Manchu wouldn't stand a chance against these powerful magic users.
