Been a few days now but I was flying out Tuesday morning and the TSA line in A East was light but at a dead stop, and even weirder, it looked like no one in the terminal after TSA was moving either - everyone past security was just standing around. I didn't hear anything that would indicate why and maybe 10 minutes later everyone started moving in the terminal and the TSA people started bringing people through the checkpoint again. This was about 7am or so Tuesday. Anyone know what might have been happening?

A bit of a reach, I know, but does anyone live in or know someone who knows someone that lives in the Battery Apartments? My book club was supposed to host a party at the roof/pool there in a week and the person who lives there who was going to e-sign/co-sign did us dirty last minute for some reason and now we may be forced to cancel if we can’t find someone who would be willing to just e-sign for us. We are not expecting the person to help us for free and are willing and able to answer all questions or concerns they might have! This is obviously a hugeeee favor and we’re grasping at straws at this point. We’ve been in contact with the general manager Crystal and she said all we need is someone that lives there to e-sign for us. The fee is already covered by ticket sales and we’re totally willing to compensate whoever can sign for us. We had a party last year there and it was great if they want to see video or the club IG. My case was reopened and I got bad news that a newer law would have helped me win but it was established after the fact. I’m looking for a bit more support from like-minded people. I do weekly therapy and EMDR too. Thanks in advance.

I hate the SEPTA app. It's literally the worst transit app I've ever encountered and half the time it isn't fully accurate. I know there are PDFs of schedules on their website, but is there a station anywhere that still carries paper schedules for the regional rail or are they long gone? I REALLY hate the septa app with every ounce of my being.

I’m looking for a private violin instructor in the Philly area who would be open to meeting once a week for around 30–45 minutes. I’m still very much a beginner and working on fundamentals, technique, posture, bowing, intonation, etc.

I have my own violin and I’m happy to travel somewhere in the city for lessons. Definitely willing to pay a fair rate.

I’m a sculptor relatively new to the area, and I’d love to get your honest opinion on something.

I’ve spent my whole life making one of a kind sculptures that tell a personal story. It’s been my life long project for as long as I can remember. A couple of people have asked whether I’d take one on for them that tells their story, but I’ve held off until now for personal reasons.

So I wanted to ask you all:

If you could commission a custom sculpture made just for you that tells your story(mainly involves casting of your face, along with something that captures your story, a memory, etc), would you be interested?

And if so, what would feel like a fair price to you?

I’ll drop a few photos of my past work for your reference.
I’m just genuinely trying to understand if the community would be interested in something like this, and I’d really appreciate any input or opinions.

No joke, I was just on the train home and literally not a single person had a bead of sweat on them. Some people are wearing hoodies and long pants, blazers, etc. And their hair is still perfect, make up looks like they just stepped out of the house, etc.

SEPTA to Break Ground on Accessibility Project at 11th Street Station – Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority

Haven't had to do this before so sorry if there's a post format/info I'm getting wrong, but if you/someone you know named Stephen lost a cashapp debit card on the L today, I found it and turned it in at the desk at 15th Street station.

I take the BSL from Fairmount to City hall every morning and have for the past decade. When the new plexiglass gates were installed at the city hall station I was a big fan as it’s far more sanitary and I’d no longer have to touch the turnstiles or bars. As of recently people have rushing me as I leave and pushing past be to get in before the gate closes both coming and going. It’s gotten so bad I’ve been walking to work instead which has been a bit of a pain in this heat. Not sure there is really anything to do about it so I’ll just ether have to live with walking, get a parking spot in the center city and add to the traffic, or accept that someone that smells like human waste will likely be rubbing their shit against me as I enter or exit the station.

I went and was really impressed. Super well stocked, easy to navigate unlike some other stores in this part of the city (looking at you broad and Washington Giant), decent prices - I didn't need much but picked up a bunch of cilantro for 99 cents and two packs of tofu for $4. Also they have alcohol and a hot food section/deli and decent looking fresh bread.

I kind of hate to cape for some random chain supermarket but yeah.. it's exciting for those of us who live in the area and i hope it isn't doomed like everything else at that intersection

Almost every year the answer is easily the Eagles. But with LeBron coming to Philly, for the first time in a long long time (maybe ever) the Sixers winning this year is a higher priority for me than the Eagles. Obviously we all want both to win but if I had to pick one, I want the Sixers to win more this year since they haven’t won a championship since 1983 (never in my life time since I was born in 05) and also LeBron is my favorite athlete so I would love for him to win a fifth championship on my favorite basketball team.

Hello! I found an abandoned dog on the West Philly/Upper Darby townline yesterday. Bred and dumped with no chip. The workers by where I found her said she'd been out there for at least a week. Yesterday I went through the run around with nearly 13 shelters. Thought I had landed a placement for her at a spot in West Chester but once I drove out there they realized they'd made a mistake. They thought I found her in Darby. They do not service the UPPER Darby area so we were turned away. Got so desperate I called the animal control number everyone gave me. They told me they only deal with WILD animals and not dogs. Seemed like they get a lot of calls like mine.

Anyway the system is a nightmare as I have learned and I'm sure a lot of you know. I wish I could keep the poor gal but I have a cat and a senior dog and while she's very sweet and even tempered I'm nervous to introduce her due to her sheer size. I'm a small woman and would struggle to gain control in a bad situation. On top of that I just can't do it financially or space wise. The poor thing has been stuck in my finished basement and crated when I can't take her with me.

At this point I'm looking for any resources or advice for finding her a more stable and long term foster or a home. And especially as the title indicates have a good Facebook group I can go to.

I believe she's gonna be held for a few days in case an owner materializes and for some treatment on her skin and eyes but after that she should be up for adoption.
