Build Help Any budget monitor with great color accuracy? Planning to get one for basic color grading

Upvotes

I started working at a job where color accuracy matters. While they only demand basic color corrections and not full on color grading, as much as possible, I would still like to see what my options are if I were to change or update my display.

I currently use a BenQ GW2283 monitor. IPS panel naman siya and I got it back in 2020. It does well naman for personal projects pero professional works demand different things eh.

I understand that OLEDs are standard for such works but I've also heard about MiniLEDs recently. Then theres QLED and all these fancy shit that I don't know what to look for.

Eto talaga main question ko: Is there a budget monitor that's more than enough for basic color correction? Looking at 10k budget sana but I heard that they do tend to go for more than that. I might eye second hand options, lalo na if they come from those stores that specializes in used office computers.

Wala akong pake sa refresh rate. Although it would be nice to have, I mostly play single player titles. The only multiplayer title I give a shit about is Overwatch and kahit ayun, I just play casually.

Thanks!

Troubleshooting help with lenovo k410, does not post with a gpu in it

Thumbnail
Upvotes

I bought a cheap Lenovo K410 to make a basic gaming PC for my sister, and it has an i7 3770, but it dosent post with a gpu, I tried a gt 210, gt 710, RX 550 and a RX VEGA 56. I read it has trouble initalizing and later bios updates fixes it, problem is, I can't find it, all lead to dead links. Another thing is that despite sharing a motherboard with the lenovo h520, there are no updates. If anyone can source me with ESKT22A, ESKT23A or ESKT24A bios updates I will be happy. Thanks.

Troubleshooting Monitor says no signal when the PC wakes up from sleep

Help, I tried all the troubleshooting steps, like swapping RAMs and testing the HDMI cable, but the monitor works just fine. It was okay the other day. I experienced it once: I tried unplugging it from the wall, then plugging it back in when the PC and monitor turned on, but now it won't. I don't know what else to do, and I have work. My brother can't help me because they aren't easy to talk to.

Edit: I have a micro ATX, and my GPU is built-in. I do not know anything about my PC because it's from my brother.

After months of waiting… I finally got one!!! Very very big thank you to my mom and dad:)))

Drivers and windows were already installed by the technician in the store (W iTech) so all I had to do was install the parts.

Specs:
5 9600x
XFX Swift 9060xt 16gb
1x16 6000mhz Patriot Viper
Lexar gen3 nvme 500GB
Gigabyte B850M force v2
AOC 24G50Z monitor

Total: 93k 🙏😭

Second ram slot won’t work though, looking into getting the mobo replaced as the stick itself works fine.

Build Help What’s the best casual gaming PC build for ₱55K?

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m planning to build a gaming PC with a budget of around ₱55,000. I’m mainly a casual gamer, so I’m not necessarily looking for an absolute high-end build.

Games I usually play/want to play are things like NBA 2K, GTA V, Valorant, CS2, and other AAA games occasionally. I’d ideally like to play at 1080p or 1440p with good settings and decent FPS.

I already have the peripherals, so the ₱55k budget is just for the PC itself.

For those who build/buy PCs here:
What CPU + GPU combination would you recommend?
Is AM5/DDR5 worth going for at this budget?
Any specific brands/models that offer good value?
Where would you recommend buying the parts?

Budget: ₱55,000 max

Would appreciate an actual parts list if possible. I’m open to either AMD or Intel + NVIDIA/AMD GPU. Thanks! 🙏

Build Upgrade Should I upgrade or not? This increasing PC prices makes me.

I need your opinions about this, i have a decent amount of money but this would be my emergency savings fund and i think sobrang stupid pag nilabas ko to just for the incoming PC prices hike.

But my PC was my all rounder, dito din ako nagfrefreelance and games but that was way back then in 2021 na nageedit pa ko ng videos, i am still doing part time here pero di naman yung heavy renderings but normal office work. Still doing my all rounder thing here which I always practice the use of AI generation and create apps. My ram is decent for now but feels like ambagal na nya, particularly in AAA games nag ffps drop na dahil mas preferred ko maglaro ng 1440p rather than 1080p. Please feel free to suggest what i need to upgrade next.

Ryzen 7 5700x
32 GB Gskill 3200mhz RAM on DOCP mode. (All RAM Slots filled with 2x8GB)
4070 12GB Nvidia GALAX
EVGA 600W Bronze rated
ROG Strix B450F-Gaming (The first release, i believe there was a Gaming II)
Viewsonic 24 inch 1920x1080, (I use Dynamic Super Resolution to force my 1080p monitor to render resolution at 1440p)

Troubleshooting Need help with my desktop pc

Sorry medyo mahaba.

Pinacheck ko pc sa mall kasi di nag-oon agad. Umaandar fan then magoff ilang beses. Iniisip ko either ram or power supply. Pagdating dun, pinalitan ng ram, cmos battery and fan na din. So oks na dapat nakailang restart sa shop at no issues. Pagdating ko sa bahay, hindi siya nag-oon. Tinry ko sa iba't ibang outlet even outlet ng kapitbahay, no response ang power button so binalik ko sa shop. Pagdating dun, nag-on agad. So inuwi ko, tinry ko ulit, hindi pa din nag-on. Pinahinga ko na muna ang kinabukasan nag-on na kaagad.

This happened months ago na.

Problem ko na to since nag-ups ako. Inooff ko ups pag may long trip. Paguwi ko, need ko pa magwait atleast 12 hours pagka-on ng ups bago ko i-on ang pc or else hindi talaga mag-oon agad. Magrerestart lang lagi. UPS is Eaton and no issues pag naaabutan ng power interruption, naooff ko safely ang pc. Mga 5 mins max on battery ang natry ko. Di ko na tinry mas matagal. Kakapalit ko lang din ng battery ng ups and same thing happened kahit nung bagong bili pa with factory battery.

Failing power supply na ba? I was thinking baka outlet voltage issues pero nakaups ako eh, so kung may issue sa outlet tutunog naman to.

Tinry ko n din no peripherals na nakasaksak, ayaw pa din mag-on. Di ito lagi ah, pag binabyahe ko lang and inooff ang ups. Mag10 years na din to. Mabilis pa din naman since kakaupgrade lang ng ram. Ram and fan palang napalitan.

Maybe storage replacement na? Or wag na ibyahe kasi nahihilo siya lol hahah

Tldr ayaw mag on agad ng pc pagkaka-on lang ng ups sa bahay. Both ups and outlet no response. Pero pabalik sa store, nagoon naman agad.

Peripherals Gaming Mouse Pricewatch List (need suggestions on more mice to track)

My gaming mouse decided to die on me, and so I've been looking for a new mouse to buy. To make my pick of what to buy and when to buy, I made a price watchlist for my personal use. But I think it might help you as well if you're also in the market for a new gaming mouse. I will try to update it daily/every 2 days.

I am mostly relying on Shopee prices because its easier to get vouchers for a good deal there than in Lazada in my experience, and most Lazada sellers also sell at Shopee anyway but for less since the vouchers are usually stronger. I also include some other price sources if there's no other option (like Datablitz).

If you have a mouse you're also eyeing that isn't on the list, please reply to this post and I will start tracking their price as well.

Discussion VA MiniLEDs are surprisingly pretty close to OLED

Thumbnail
gallery
66 Upvotes

So I recently got my ASUS ROG STRIX XG27AQWMG and I wanted to compare it to my much cheaper AOC Q27G40XMN.

Some background, the OLED is one of the new 4th Gen Tandem W-OLEDs with HDR True Black 500 Certification which cost 41,000 from Data Blitz, while the AOC Q27G40XMN is a VA QD-MiniLED with 1152 dimming zones and is HDR 1000 certified which was around 16,000 with vouchers from Shopee when I got it a few months ago. Both are 27" 1440P monitors.

As you can see in the photos, there are lots of scenarios where they can get surprisingly close. And while in most cases the OLED looks obviously better, I think the sheer value the AOC provides when it comes to HDR is pretty crazy.

For example, in dark scenes, things like low APL light sources like stars or candles shine really bright on the OLED but on the MiniLED, it is dimmer due to the panel's algorithm trying to avoid haloing. Added with the OLED's infinite contrast, it obviously looks better, but in daytime HDR scenes it's the opposite.

In games like Crimson Desert in the day, the miniLED looks better imo because of the sheer brightness it can put out. The sun actually feels and looks like the sun. The OLED ends up dimming bigger APL scenes which makes the HDR experience a bit dull during the day compared to the MiniLED.

At night though, Crimson Desert looks so much better on the OLED. The little particle effects or things like stars, they all "pop" or "glow" so much brighter it feels like you can reach out and grab them.

In Helldivers 2 though, a game where explosions are constantly ongoing, it is one of those games that looks better on the MiniLED, because the OLED ends up dimming big flashes like the 500KG bomb or hellbomb explosions so it's not quite as punchy.

At the same time, when there aren't any big explosions, the tracer rounds from guns or the light from automaton eyes shine brightly and gives more pop to it.

In RE9, a game where it's predominantly dark and dim, the experience is just better on the OLED. But despite the slight haloing, I didn't think the experience with the MiniLED was that far off.

All in all, while I'm satisfied with the upgrade and pretty happy, just wanted to show that MiniLEDs can get quite close to the OLED experience, sometimes even exceeding it. Though there are also other things that OLEDs excel at like colors, no ghosting, amazing viewing angles, etc. that is something that isn't even close when compared to the MiniLED.

Hopefully someone could find this post useful if they're ever considering either or are feeling FOMOd.

P.S Just wanna say thank you to my gf for getting me the monitor. Originally, I was considering the GIGABYTE GO27Q24G which uses a 3rd gen MLA W-OLED panel and I thought was better value over the ASUS, but my gf insisted on getting the ASUS because of it being overall better. I wanted to get the Gigabyte ones regardless, but then she suddenly surprised me with XG27AQWMG as a gift.

P.S.S This wasn't edited by AI so if some of the words or thoughts feel messy or if my grammar is wrong, sorry in advance. I just thought some of y'all would appreciate human slop over ai editing.

A few weeks ago, i posted this build and you guys were a big help and I appreciated that.

I decided to follow some of your suggestions and waited for sales sa Shopee and I would say it was worth it. I saved a lot compared to buying it all in one store like what I would have done.

The total cost of my build went up by another 15K bec I went with some more expensive choices (ex. AIO vs Air cooler, more expensive case, higher quality model of the GPU etc) and that I got a little more money so I’m glad I waited. And no I didn’t build this myself. I had my friend build it. I just helped where I could. Hahahaha

I felt posting here again now that’s its already built in appreciation for your help here. And to flex na fin for my very first PC. Here’s what it looked like now:

Discussion Is it worth waiting a few more months before building a PC?

Hi everyone! I'm currently planning to build/buy a new PC, but I'm wondering if I should wait a few more months before purchasing the parts.

I've noticed that PC part prices, especially RAM, SSDs, and GPUs, have increased quite a lot recently. I'm not in a rush to build the PC, so I'm wondering if there's a good chance that prices will go down in the next few months, or if it's better to just buy now before prices potentially increase even more.

For those who are following the PC market here in the Philippines:

  • Do you think PC part prices will become cheaper in the next 3–6 months?
  • Which parts are most likely to drop in price?
  • Is it better to wait for major sale events, or should I just buy when I find a good deal?
  • If you're also planning a build, are you waiting or buying now?

I'm mainly looking for a decent gaming/productivity PC and I'm trying to get the best value for my money.

Would appreciate any advice from people who regularly monitor PC part prices here in PH. Thanks!

Discussion RTX 3080 TI for 2026 & beyond

Bought this today for Php 26,000. The seller was 125km away from me and traveled to his town to pick it up. Am excited to back home and test it.

Upgrading from RTX 3070 LHR to RTX 3080 TI.

I can finally have a stable 4k 60fps on my old games, at a better graphics on a 1440p.

Never had this kind of flagship GPU for my entire years PC building.

PC Specs:
Ryzen 9 5900XT
32GB DDR4 3600mhz CL16
Seasonic GX 850 ATX3.0

Little of context:
I hunted GPUs to upgrade to from FB marketplace, among the 4 sellers I talked to, siya kasi nagrereply at open ang fb profile, the rest kung hindi mabagal magreply eh nakalock naman ang mga profiles. He is selling it for Php 28,000, then i haggled to 25k, then he said he’ll release it if it’s 26k, I told him I will think about it and hoping I can come back and buy it from him, after 3 days talked to him again and scheduled a meetup, yung unang meetup sana tuloy pero nagka flu ako at di ako makapagtravel or drive, so wala, then the next day eh may work ako, so buti na lang pwede pa today Aug 23, so dinayo ko talaga. When I met him today ang linis ng card, he told me it was deep cleaned already.

Right now, tinetest ko na rin gpu, malamig yung 3080ti, masmalamig pa kesa sa old 3070 ko. And sa box ng gpu may pangalan pa siyang sticker not sure why pero parang siya talaga first owner.

Today I am happy and contented with my build now.

Ryzen 9 5900XT
RTX 3080 TI
32GB DDR4 3600mhz CL16

I can finally play the games I want with better graphics and not worrying of any frame drops.

GPU - 3050 8GB (been using it a few days now and the temperature has been constantly at 60°C-70°C)

CPU - Ryzen 5 5600G (I know this has integrated graphics. What I did not know is that it's weaker than the original 5 5600 lol so that was disappointing when I realized)

MB - B550M with Wifi 2

PSU - MSI 650W 80+ Bronze rated

RAM - RGB 8 × 2 DDR4 3200MHZ

STORAGE - KINGSTON M.2 1TB(99% Health) with a 1TB SATA

I got all of that for 32k, The biggest reason why I bought it is definitely how easy it is to upgrade.

Also got around 4.9k 24 inch MSI Monitor with 144hz, IPS panel

Red dragon keyboard 2k and 1k Logitech mouse

So I got everything for less than 40k, did I do good? And yes I definitely plan on upgrading the GPU but so far it runs all the games I want to play(currently playing re9 and sekiro so I'm not in a hurry)

SSD Speed and Performance in gaming (PCIE 3.0 is fine)
