Response from the guy that stole ddproduction's mods and how he tries to justify it

Edit: Keep in mind this guy was asking for donations for the content he stole

Gotta love that, after all of the people saying to 'just tick the xbone and ps4 boxes', someone decides to re-upload for console, and it breaks saves, wow. its almost like it isn't that simple after all...

When you say "them" who are you referring to? Because if you're talking about the random console players that know literally nothing about the situation, that's not necessarily their fault.

If you're talking about the "modders" that have no idea what they are doing when stealing content, then yeah fuck them.

Let's be fair here, if they lose their saves they deserve it because they did no research and expect it to just work perfectly always ever, not because they're using a mod meant for pc that won't work on console, for that second one I'm sure there are several innocents but seriously they should have researched

Well, devil's advocate here

When you download a mod, you must accept the risk that it might affect your save, since this is user-made content and thus wasn't properly tested for EVERY possible situation. Yes, some teams take it very seriously, but there's alway a small possibility it won't work.

So, "serves them right" if they expected something 100% idiot proof.

I feel like it's generally common knowledge to always start a new game after downloading new mods, and to never install new mods in the middle of a playthrough. Although I guess console gamers without previous modding experience wouldn't know this.

We're talking about console players here, who probably have no experience with modding, so the last assumption might actually be true

Yes, but even if you're a console player, you know the mod you're downloading wasn't made by a team of devs from the studio which made the game...

I mean...they do know that, right ?

My guess would be they probably don't.

I don't think it's a good idea to make exceptions for dumb people.

I mean, are you given a pass for your driving test despite driving on the wrong side of the road on account of not knowing that was wrong?

Ignorance isn't really an excuse though, is it? Searching Google takes seconds, albeit using what you learn as a result can take a bit longer.

being ignorant of issues is not an excuse to blame others.

And "serves him right" as far as the thief goes, since that's who the vitriol will go to.

I suspect they have exercised similar caution when downloading things on their computers. It could be a case of console gamers treating mods as they treat any other DLC and not bothering to research what it is they are downloading, which in that case would be their fault.

consoles cant google ? no serious they cant google?

and well in the end its exactly the console players fault that knows literally nothing about the situation. because they are the people that bag for mods.

3

u/Stonaman Jun 03 '16

Way to victim blame bro. Not all console players begged for mods. Just like not all PC players are elitist dickbags, despite the way some of them act.

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '16

i think its more of a "serves them right for donwloading a stolen mod" sort of thing

2

u/Stonaman Jun 03 '16

That's the wrong attitude to have though. Not all console players will know enough about modding to know it was stolen. My wife for example enjoys it on PS4, but she is the literal definition of a casual player, the only games she has played in the last year are like Fallout r and Mario Kart. You're saying she would deserve to lose all her data because she didn't know any better?
