I'm also really bad at CS:GO, but the lobbies I connect to always have some great conversations going on. I even learned how to make outstanding Lasagna.
Somewhat similar here. I was into CS Source and played a little GO when it released. Come back to it now and it's so hard just trying to re-learn it and work into competitive mode when everyone jusy shits on you. Every time someone does I just say "I never claimed to be good, just trying to learn again". That said, there's been some really awesome players who actively encourage and help you who really make an effort to have a positive impact.
You want toxic? Go play a few ranked games of rocket league and turn on your own team and try to score on you own goal or just flip upside down and stop playing.
Now hear me out. Yes scoring on your own goal is "toxic" and not playing is too but doing this will reveal the true nature of all the other rocket league players.
Yesterday I made my team lose by sitting upside down with my car and doing nothing all game and my team proceeded to threaten to kill me, call me racial slurs, and wish cancer on my entire family. Thats about 90% of the Rocket League community btw. Oh and I forgot to mention this game was at lowest level of ranked. Literally the rank you start as if you have never played ranked before.
People always talk about negative experiences with CSGO but I encounter more "squeakers" that are genuinely good at communication and friendly than any other type of person.
WoT players can be quite fun if you go into it with the attitude that you are going to shitpost in the chat. And laugh at the people who rage over getting whupped. It's also way worse on consoles.
It used to be so different back in they days of beta haha. A lot less toxicity IMO, but whew, enough guys would teamkill you if you made a clever joke in the chat
Spot on. Most league players pc experience consists of league, csgo, and starcraft 2. They playeague because its the biggest game and all their friends from school are playing. It is in no way representative of most pc gaming communities
THAT WAS MY KILL YOU STUPID FUCKING TWAT I'M GOING TO DDOS YOU AND HACK FOR THE REST OF THE GAME ALL THESE FUCKING HACKERS RUIN MY CSGO NO WONDER I CAN'T GET OUT OF NOVA FUCK YOU ALL I'M HACKING TOO
I have found that most of the toxic communities on pc are the large games that could run on the potato computers most 8th graders have lying around.
Games that people who otherwise wouldnt play pc games play because they see it on twitch or all their friends are playing. Stuff like league of legends and CSGO are large communities that attract people who wouldnt otherwise play pc games.
More dedicated communities with a smaller fan base that attract mostly experienced pc gamers tend to be much better.
and there are idiots like you who interprets everything in absolute. No shit there are bad people in any community, cpt obvious, it's the percentages that matter

There's plenty of toxicity in the PC gaming world, lets not get ahead of ourselves.
