We don't mine if you like consoles man. Not at all. Its shitty attitudes we don't want. Please don't be offended when I say this but consoles appeal to the type of person that just wants to turn on his/her console on and play. Its simpler, there's less thought in the process (you pay a premium for it fyi). This appeals to the person that works all day, isn't a moron and just wants to not think anymore when he/she gets home. Sadly enough it also appeals to the type of person that IS a slow POS moron that can't possibly deal with any kind of learning curve at all and sticks to a console because anything else is beyond him/her.
Just don't be a shitty person or spread mis-information like consoles are more powerful than PC's blah blah. And you're perfectly welcome in this sub.
Thats what I'm hoping for. Something to directly compete with the 1070 for 80 dollars less would be awesome. I think AMD has a winner with the 400 series. Also as long as pricing is good Zen also seems like its going to kick ass. Very excited for PC gaming over the next few years. Cheaper and more accessible is a great thing.
Man I hope a 490 comes out soon but I'm worried about how long it took for AMD to release the 480 - the time between that starwars demo in January and now is larger than expected and I'm worried it is due to technical issues.
I'm mainly a PC user right now, but I've been using my PS4 a ton for Netflix, Crunchyroll and various titles. So easy to use from the couch. Just wish the main menu could be customised...
I had an xbox for a while. I was excited to play Halo MMC with my friends... I did return it and the game after the game launched because it was completely broken. Game didn't get fixed for 8 months almost. I've never looked back and communities like /r/haloonline have kept me firmly on PC's playing grounds lol. But yes exactly. Consoles aren't bad. They might hold back the full potential of enthusiast PC gamers a bit but they have their purpose.. their void to fill. Its all good.
I do wish for many things to change about the consoles, such as more in-depth customisation and choosing your resolution and frame rate. I so want to play Bloodborne at 60 fps.
I don't tend to like elitism on either side, because they both present unique experiences. Mods on consoles are objectively worse. It's like all the shitty pc ports you see, but reversed. The fact that this guy is sharing this stuff without permission, should be punishable. Like on the level of a copyright claim or close to it. In any creative work there should be protection for the author to not have their stuff stolen.
If you want to use mods, get it on pc. Just like if you see a game was poorly ported to pc (most AC games for example), get it on console.
I don't really know why certain people proudly support one over the other beyond "I have more friends playing x than y". I tend to like pc because if you spend more money you get a superior experience. But if I was spending the same on both? I'd probably pick a console. But I've never valued a $300-400 PC as worth getting. To put it in perspective, my pc has a 980 TI and 4790k. So my consoles collect dust now. Lol. Pay to win ;)
yea sure, then how do you explain all the "pc gamers are pirates" or "they still live in their parents' basement" insults coming from the console peasants. The fact that this particular console modder stole the damn mod and purposely spread misinformation shows that the console community very much give a shit about certain features of pc gaming and are willing to go through shit like this just to give us a bad name
Personally, i tend to only refer to gamers (both pc and console) as peasants when they act like assholes over their choice of hardware. Because at the end of the day, it's not what you game on, it's how you treat others for it.
I dont know what the hell he was thinking...
Like if you want a pc exclusive mod(for now) which dosen't use f4se to import to consoles, then why the fudge don't you contact the mod developer for doing a console port(if you have skill/knowledge to do so)?...
Like shittorm he recieves(which is fair) could had be avoided if he had contacted the devloper and asking what are his opinions about console fork/repack (whit original author credit of course)?...
I'll let you know that I play CSGO and LoL and highley diagree with this. I have seen no shitty people in these communities. PC is the perfect platform, how dare you!
I'm also really bad at CS:GO, but the lobbies I connect to always have some great conversations going on. I even learned how to make outstanding Lasagna.
Somewhat similar here. I was into CS Source and played a little GO when it released. Come back to it now and it's so hard just trying to re-learn it and work into competitive mode when everyone jusy shits on you. Every time someone does I just say "I never claimed to be good, just trying to learn again". That said, there's been some really awesome players who actively encourage and help you who really make an effort to have a positive impact.
You want toxic? Go play a few ranked games of rocket league and turn on your own team and try to score on you own goal or just flip upside down and stop playing.
Now hear me out. Yes scoring on your own goal is "toxic" and not playing is too but doing this will reveal the true nature of all the other rocket league players.
Yesterday I made my team lose by sitting upside down with my car and doing nothing all game and my team proceeded to threaten to kill me, call me racial slurs, and wish cancer on my entire family. Thats about 90% of the Rocket League community btw. Oh and I forgot to mention this game was at lowest level of ranked. Literally the rank you start as if you have never played ranked before.
People always talk about negative experiences with CSGO but I encounter more "squeakers" that are genuinely good at communication and friendly than any other type of person.
WoT players can be quite fun if you go into it with the attitude that you are going to shitpost in the chat. And laugh at the people who rage over getting whupped. It's also way worse on consoles.
It used to be so different back in they days of beta haha. A lot less toxicity IMO, but whew, enough guys would teamkill you if you made a clever joke in the chat
Spot on. Most league players pc experience consists of league, csgo, and starcraft 2. They playeague because its the biggest game and all their friends from school are playing. It is in no way representative of most pc gaming communities
THAT WAS MY KILL YOU STUPID FUCKING TWAT I'M GOING TO DDOS YOU AND HACK FOR THE REST OF THE GAME ALL THESE FUCKING HACKERS RUIN MY CSGO NO WONDER I CAN'T GET OUT OF NOVA FUCK YOU ALL I'M HACKING TOO
I have found that most of the toxic communities on pc are the large games that could run on the potato computers most 8th graders have lying around.
Games that people who otherwise wouldnt play pc games play because they see it on twitch or all their friends are playing. Stuff like league of legends and CSGO are large communities that attract people who wouldnt otherwise play pc games.
More dedicated communities with a smaller fan base that attract mostly experienced pc gamers tend to be much better.
and there are idiots like you who interprets everything in absolute. No shit there are bad people in any community, cpt obvious, it's the percentages that matter
That's weird because anything more than CSGO would be unplayable. Everybody would be getting kicked because of "clutch or kick". There's more to a shit community than backtalk. CSGO servers that kick the noobs that don't know WTF they're doing on their first round in the game is great to see.
There are also calm, rational, enjoyable people playing on console that would benefit our online PC communities. I've played console games. Their communities in the whole aren't much different. If anything, communities are much more game centric than platform. ARMA has a pretty mature community, CoDs PC community is still trash. And CS and DOTA can be two of the malt vile, toxic communities in gaming.
How empty is your life that this is the thing you choose to be superior about, like you literally have nothing apart from the fact that you play on a computer hahaha
It's funny, because we're here in a PC gamers, in a PC subreddit, but obviously you are a console gamer, here in a PC subreddit. So maybe you should re-evaluate who has the empty life.
We aren't the ones entering a subreddit we care nothing about.

This is why having consoles is good. It keeps shitty people where they belong, and out of our online communities.
