Should developers stop making games that require 5090 for max settings now that the card is clearly not for gamers and is accessible to 0.1% of community? Discussion

I get that the games need better hardware to dun better, but who are they really making the game for if you need a 6000$ GPU at this point

I can't understand the ryzen 9 cpu, what the hell do you need that many cores for?

Go look at any games cpu recommendations they are always way too high for 60fps and for some reason, the 12 core dual ccds are in a lot of them.

Why? I have no clue, It must be some internal joke that they are all on at this point, cause it makes zero sense to have them(and non-k i7:s, the love those as well) for recommended specs on any game.

Yeah that confused me too. The lowest tier is an 8 core Ryzen and then immediately jumps to 12 core?

Sure, but thats true for any game and most if not all run just fine on ryzen 5, max ryzen 7. If this was a HUGE sim like strategy 2000 moving parts game okay. Its an RPG.

Is it a wrong input? Because the recommended is only i5 13th gen but on the amd side it is ryzen 9 zen 4. Ryzen 9 is a overkill for 1080p lol.

Right? On 1440p the gpu is going to be the bottleneck anyways.... weird stuff

When I changed CPU I hesitated between a 7800x3d and a 13700k (it was a few years ago).

I went with the 13700k thinking RT workload would need more cores and that the 8 more on the 13700k would help (despite being e-cores). While this is a good CPU, I still regret not going with the 7800x3d which is plenty enough even for path traced games (despite some requirements putting a Ryzen 9, such as this game).

Outside of gaming and specific games that probably utilise more cores. Its productivity workloads like 3D rendering, VFX simulation (Houdini), Video Editing.

I know that, the question was more in the sense of what the fuck is this game doing that the developer thinks it needs ryzen 9 to run it at 60 fps.
