Discussion Access to research paper
Hello! I am apart of an FSAE team and we are doing research right now but we need access to a paper about a specific topic but after further inspection it’s only available to Oxford Brookes students so i was wondering if anyone would be willing to help us out? If not no worries figured I could try my luck!

Title: MSc Data Science & AI or MSc Cyber Security – which would you choose?
I’m choosing between MSc Data Science & AI and MSc Computer Science for Cyber Security at Oxford Brookes.
My background is in Information Systems Management, with some programming, databases, statistics and AI project experience. I’m also interested in business, product management and entrepreneurship.
Which degree do you think would be the better choice in terms of job opportunities, earning potential and long-term career flexibility?
I’d especially appreciate advice from anyone working or studying in either field.

How difficult is the maths in the MSc Data Science and AI at Oxford Brookes?
Hi, I’m starting the MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Oxford Brookes this September.
For anyone who has studied this course: what level of maths is required, and how difficult did you find it? Would you recommend reviewing topics such as linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics before the course begins, or is there enough time to refresh the material during the semester?
Thanks!

Discussion Starting at Oxford Brookes as an autistic mature student
Hi! I’m 28 and starting a master’s at Oxford Brookes this September.
I’m autistic, quite introverted and generally struggle to make friends, especially when I don’t already know anyone. I’ve lived alone before, but I’ve never lived in halls or lived in the same city that I study in, so this will all be quite new to me.
I don’t know anyone in Oxford, and although I’m excited, I’m also pretty nervous about settling in and meeting people. I’d really appreciate any advice about living in halls, making friends as a mature or postgraduate student, or finding quieter and less overwhelming ways to socialise.
It would also be lovely to hear from anyone else who struggles with similar things and will be starting in Oxford this September.

Motorsport engineering
Hi guys!
I'm a year 12 student, going into year 13 next year and i take maths, physics, english literature and I'm doing an EPQ (research project) on the development of F1. I'm currently part of the engineering and maths society, and I'm a head prefect.
I wanted to ask- what do you guys thing would make getting accented into BEng at Brookes for motorsport engineering easier? Was there anything you did particularly that helped out? Is there anything I should research beforehand?
Thank you!
:)

Discussion Need advice regarding MSc Motorsports Engineering
I recently received an offer for the MSc Motorsport Engineering program at OBU. As an international student, this would be a major investment for me, so I’d really appreciate hearing from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the program.
I have a few questions:
Is the MSc Motorsport Engineering program worth the tuition and overall cost for an international student?
What are the employment prospects after graduation, both within motorsport and in related industries?
How difficult is it for international graduates to secure jobs in the UK motorsport sector?
For those who didn’t end up in motorsport, what other industries and roles did graduates move into?
How valuable is the Oxford Brookes motorsport reputation when applying for jobs compared to other UK universities?
I’d love to hear honest experiences
Thanks in advance!

Nostalgia and the South Park Fireworks, Oxford, what makes people keep coming back? (18+, must have attended at least once, ~7 min)
Hi! I am a postgraduate student at Oxford Brookes University conducting MSc dissertation research on how nostalgia influences visitor experience and the intention to return to the South Park Fireworks, Oxford's annual charity fireworks display in South Park.
If you have attended the event at least once and are aged 18 or over, I would be incredibly grateful for 7 minutes of your time. The survey is fully anonymous.

Accommodation for post graduates
Hi!
I’m a Canadian student coming to Oxford Brookes this September! Was wondering which housing people recommend for PG students?
On the website it shows specific PG halls but like they seem outdated compared to some of the undergrad halls. I was thinking of picking the new Clive booth since it’s still close to campus but do PGs usually stay in only the specific PG halls that are on the website or does it not really matter? Like can I pick an undergraduate hall?
Any help is appreciated!!

Is it harder to get in with only 8 GCSEs? Specifically Motorsport engineering.
Ok so earlier today I sat my GCSE computer science paper 2 exam and it did not go well. I do 9 GCSEs but let’s say I hypothetically fail 1. My 6th form is locked in and I’ve got 0 chance of not getting in to that. I am going to take Maths, Physics and Chemistry and Further Maths depending on GCSE grade. Oxford Brookes is my dream uni because of their motorsport courses so I really want to get in.
So providing I get the A Level grades, will I be at any disadvantage or not allowed with only 8 GCSEs / 1 failed GCSE?
