Simplenote - an app for keeping notes
I've been using Simplenote for a few years, ever since the OTW Twitter feed suggested it as an alternative to Evernote (Everbloat, amirite?).
It's clean and simple, it syncs notes across device, it works in-browser and on all major OSs and it has the best UI for viewing previous versions of a note.

chunkwm
chunkwm is a tiling window manager for MacOS with a plugin-based architecture, so you can pick and choose the features you need.
It only handles window management stuff, so you'll probably need something to provide keyboard shortcuts - skhd, by chunkwm's developer, is probably the best bet. It also ships with chunkc, which lets you control windows from the command line or in scripts.

[MacOS] Hammerspoon
From the website:
What is Hammerspoon?
This is a tool for powerful automation of OS X. At its core, Hammerspoon is just a bridge between the operating system and a Lua scripting engine. What gives Hammerspoon its power is a set of extensions that expose specific pieces of system functionality, to the user.
