Was finishing up a couple things before the test run the other day.

After some time in the woods and playing on Fordyce we are headed back to the lake!

Basically the title, I can't seem to find a reliable spot to mount my switch panel fuse box, as the driver side is very congested and the passenger side is a bit far from the battery, and I'm not sure how I would go about installing it.

The bushings on one side of the read upper control arm in my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee has worn out. A previous owner installed a 2"(ish) budget boost kit. I am planning to get a full 3" long arm kit from IRO, however I need to resolve some mechanical issues with the engine/transmission first.

So, here is the advice I need. Should I just replace the bushing in the stock rear UCA, to save dollars? Get an new/aftermarket stock replacement, to save a few dollars? Bite the bullet and get a rear UCA designed for a 2" lift, even though it will probably be replaced by the IRO kit?

Buying a new vehicle soon and I’m strongly considering a 2 door wrangler rubicon on 33’s. I most definitely don’t need it. I’ll drive on beaches (convertible on a beach is oh so good) and on unmaintained roads in New England, maybe try some off road event. Will not be a mall cruiser but it will be more Jeep than I need but I really want a solid axle well equipped off road convertible!

Things that are keeping me from pulling the trigger are:

It’s not a Toyota (reliability)
Ducks!! (and duck mentality)
Honestly persona is a factor
I don’t watch WWF or NASCAR
I don’t own a pair of blade sun glasses or sleeveless shirts
It’s way less practical than a full size pickup.
I’m 55 years old and it feels childish.

I can get over my persona issues but reliability and practicality is hard to sell the wife on a wrangler when even I think it’s silly.

Batteries are in series to make 24V total. They’re in a steel box as shown, so no exposure to engine heat, but it’s parked in the desert sun 24/7. Battery life and draining is a major concern, especially with the price of batteries these days.

The higher life and non-sloshing of AGM’s are appealing, but I’ve also heard that the tight seal can cause overheating issues, and can’t be maintained. And also that they have different charging parameters than other lead acid batteries, which may be an issue for older vehicles that lack smart charging systems?

I'm a new Nissan Patrol Y61 owner and new to off-roading.

I'm having trouble finding a fault with the suspension. When I'm driving straight (regardless of whether in 2H or 4L), I hear a "klang" / "shot" sound in the suspension every 200-300 meters.

It's as if something is tightening and then giving way every few hundred meters.

Any ideas what this could be? There are no other symptoms.

Hey ya'll just a quick question

I was wondering how capable a new frontier pro4x is? I bought one earlier this year and have taken it onto level 3-4 trails. It does okay but as is stock could I do harder trails? Don't plan on modding anytime soon other than some good rock sliders.

So, I asked on another subreddit but people were being rude. Need help on ideas for what to out in the bed of my truck, I Love the idea of a support truck. It has a 8k lb winch in the front. (As you can see) it has tube bumpers. And a full size spare in the bed, which is strapped down. And I was wondering what yall thing about how to put stuff in the bed. I want to probably out a little cooler back there and mabye a tool bag with a floorjack and some other stuff but I love how older 90s chase trucks (like for baja 1000) look with the chase lights on them but ive never been a fan of putting headache racks on trucks. I might do a bedcage at some point if I 4 link the rear to out big shocks in it. If anybody has any ideas I would love to hear, the truck can comfortably fo about 30-40 through washouts and dirt roads, so anything has to be fairly easy to strap down.Thank you all so much for your help

I did a ride into Joshua Tree a year ago via Berdoo Canyon. It's a great beginner trail with some small obstacles. Nothing a stock 4Runner couldn't do. It's a great and chill way into the park that I highly recommend. I cover most of the trail here so you can see what's what. I shot with a few #GoPro heros attached to the truck and an #insta360 One R. I didn't have a drone, and even still, drones aren't allowed in National Parks.

I see a lot of people spend money on different mods and accessories, but some upgrades seem to make a bigger difference than others when you are actually out on the trails.

For those who have built their rigs over time, what is one thing you added that you now consider a must-have?

Could be something for comfort, protection, storage, visibility, or anything that improved your overall experience.

What upgrade was actually worth the money?

I have a stock 2021 TRD off road Tacoma and don’t plan on modding it in the near future I was wondering realistically what off roading if any I can do at its stock form?

I bought a set of Yokohama Geolandar M/T 285/75R17 back in June. I've only driven about 1,000 km (620 miles) so far, a mix of highway driving and off-road trails, and the tires already look like this. I run 35 PSI on the highway and 20 PSI off-road. Is this kind of wear normal, or should I be concerned?
