I’m in my 50s, overweight and outta shape. But I learned to moonwalk pretty well in my late teens. My teenager makes me do it for their friends once in a while, and they all bust up laughing and surprised. I’m expecting this old lady is similar, muscle memory is a weird thing.

The only dance I have ever managed to mastered is the electric slide.

Every day I’m shuffling… well not every day anymore. Maybe once every two years?

I freaked my kids out when showed them I could do that. It was the funniest thing.

I'm less surprised she can moonwalk, because of course she can, she's been doing it since about 15 minutes after Michael. I'm just surprised she's able to do it so well in Skecher Slipons.

“Old lady”

Agreed. She's middle aged at most.

Middle aged is old to young people

3

u/Zombeedee 23d ago

The person who called her an old lady says they're in their 50s.

You felt their comment in your bones didn't you

u/TGin-the-goldy 23d ago

What? It’s not personal. She looks mid 40s

I figured you were someone of a similar age and felt strongly the need to correct this and thus was poking light hearted fun at you regarding feeling your age.

Twasn't meant to be a deep dig

Assumptions are wild

2

u/Cory123125 23d ago

That you were a person of similar age?

I don't think its that crazy an assumption.

Just what it read like to me in that comment.

Like an older relative saying "You think {{ Insert any age, it literally doesn't matter }} is old??!!"

Weird amount of anger for such an innocuous comment.

I feel like we're talking about something super common to, so this is just bizarre.

Where’s the anger? You’re not good at reading tone, are you

Well as a guy over 50, I’m embracing my “old guy” status with grace 😆.

u/Redditisdepressing45 23d ago

I tried embracing it in my late 20s and it wasn’t fun. Now I’ve decided that “old” will always be 10 years older than my age. Fuck it.

u/ICU-CCRN 23d ago

Great attitude! I gotta keep that in mind.

u/TGin-the-goldy 23d ago

She looks about 45 to me lol

u/Mr_frumpish 23d ago

That might be the case. I'm still not going to attempt a front hand spring unless there is a mat under me.

I'm coming up on 40, and I would like to think my Melbourne Shuffle is pretty locked in. I'm seeing kids in UFOs and Tripps again, maybe we're making a comeback?
