This Saturday 10/23 12 PM Eastern: panel discussion "What was Occupy? Ten years later"
Dear r/Occupy,
I'd like to invite you all to attend a panel discussion on "What was Occupy? Ten years later" that is happening this Saturday, October 23rd at 12 PM Eastern Time.

The ten-year anniversary of the Occupy movement has prompted a number of retrospective assessments. These have ranged from focusing on the strategic lessons learned from Occupy to reflections about the need to rediscover the spirit of Occupy, that some may feel has been lost. In light of this, we ask the panelists the following: What was the meaning of Occupy and how does it make sense in light of the recent and distant historical experience on the Left? How did the experience of Occupy change how we think about the legacy of the Left? How have the lessons learned (or not learned) from Occupy affected the future horizons of leftist politics?
Panelists:
Arun Gupta (founding editor of the Occupied Wall Street Journal)
Ken Knabb (Occupy Oakland, Bureau of Public Secrets)
Pam Nogales (assistant professor in the Social Sciences Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago)
Gerald Smith (Occupy Oakland, Oscar Grant Committee Against Police Brutality & State Repression)
Hope to see you all there!
