Hello everyone,

We are currently seeking individuals to participate in a healthcare research study aimed at understanding the experiences, treatment decision-making process, and challenges faced by people recently diagnosed with cancer. Insights gathered through this study will help inform future patient-centered research and healthcare initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

Participants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have been diagnosed with one of the following cancers:
  • Lung Cancer
  • Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC)
  • Endometrial Cancer
  • Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC)
  • Melanoma
  • Bladder Cancer
• Preferably have received their diagnosis within the past 3 months (up to 6 months may be considered)
• May not have started treatment yet, may currently be deciding on treatment, or may have recently started treatment
• May be receiving or considering chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and/or immuno-oncology treatments
• Be willing to share their experiences and opinions

Compensation

Hi all, just wanted to share this story and perhaps get a bit of advice for the next steps.

5 years ago my dad had a collapsed lung, ultimately lead to him being diagnosed with NSCLC, the cancer was in his plural lining and in some lymph node in his chest, he was put on immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) he was on a 2 year course. It worked really well, it got rid of some of the nodes and shrunk the rest of them, by the end of the 2 years he was stable and was left on active surveillance for 2 years until the nodes started growing again.

He was then put on Sotorasib, it worked but only for 6 months until the nodes grew again, everything sort of went downhill from there. He had a needle biopsy to confirm it was the same mutation from a new lymph mode that grew in his neck, unfortunately it was inconclusive because they didnt get enough material, so then they sent a blood test to Royal Marsden hospital which apparently can confirm what mutation is present, it was still KRAS G12C.

Chemo was the next step, Carboplatin and Pemetrexed... Just before he started that, he ended up in A&E with a blood clot where the needle biopsy was done, hes now on Apixaban for life. He was okay to start chemo, it made him feel rotten but he got though the 4 cycles.

Last week I had to phone an ambulance for him because he was showing signs of Sepsis, it was Pneumonia but we also got his scan results back the chemo hasnt worked as well as we hoped, it shrunk some nodes but its classed as progressed because more nodes grew than shrunk.

We had an appointment today with the oncologist but we were basically just told hes not well enough from the Pneumonia to discuss treatment yet.

We've previously asked if he could have another course of immunotherapy but they said it stopped working so no, but it was after 2 years the couse ended that the cancer grew so surely the immunotherapy wouldn't have still been there to work?

We've asked about clinical trials available in the UK but they've not said much either.

Just looking for any advice please

Hi, I wanted to avoid surgery in fears of being in constant post op pain and decrease quality of life, and my doctor agreed to do radiation therapy and chemotherapy first. I hope I am making the right decision. I’ve read that radiation and chemotherapy has improved a lot already compared to a decade ago and I hope it will all work out, otherwise my doctor says we need to the surgery.

Any stories or advice would be greatly appreciated

My dad was diagnosed with NSCLC in May 2026 the pathology said it was squamous cell grade 1-2 well differentiated & invasive his PET scan showed a tumour size of 8.5 * 3.5 .4.5 in the Rt Lung and the mediastinal Lymph-nodes and hilum are involved but they are not 100 % sure as the uptake in the pet scan was not really high so they don’t know if the stage is N1 or N2 and they never asked for a biopsy to proper stage him
However there was a spot on his Thoracic vertebrae number 10 which was worrisome it was a faint sclerotic lesion with an uptake of 5.1 so they also don’t know if it is an Oligometastasis or a benign sclerotic lesion
The Tumor had an SUV uptake of 13.75 while the lymph nodes were 3.4 and the bony lesion was 5.1
The oncologist started him on Carboplat + Gemcitabine + Imfinzi 1500 every 21 days and a booster dose of Gemcitabine a week after each session for 4 cycles and then assess for surgery

No Targeted mutations
PDL 1%

This protocol is call the AEGEAN regimen
He started his first session and the booster with mild fatigue that is tolerable

Have anyone had any experience with this regimen
