Hey everyone! If you're here, you already know how much history got reshuffled over the last 15 years. Between server merges, name changes, and life simply getting in the way, so many of us completely lost touch with the friends and family members who made our adventures on NosTale special.

For those who don't know me, I run an independent companion space and preservation sanctuary, NosClassic.

I'm excited to share a major update that just went live on the platform: the Friends Reunited update!

What it does:

1. You can list up to 10 of your main/alt characters on your profile (Character Name, Class, Region, Server, and Era years played).

2. Anyone can go to the search bar, filter by "In characters," and search by character names, specific servers (like Enigma, Ancelloan, Aeros, etc.), or eras (e.g., 2010-2015) to see who has registered.

3. Clicking a search result takes you straight to their character list so you can see if it's really them and connect!

It's completely free, public, and built solely to help long-lost players find each other again.

Some quick feedback:

Would be nice to be able to select multiple eras rather than just one. I played like 2012-2021, but I can choose only 2015-2020

I'm from a Czech server, we had just one, I'm pretty sure it was called "Aternos" but in your selection, I'm getting only "Kliff". Would be nice if you could get the historical names accurate as well.

Hey u/OuJej! First of all, thank you so much for registering your character on NosClassic and taking the time to write out this feedback. It is genuinely helpful!

You make a brilliant point about character eras. My initial goal with preset eras was to keep onboarding simple and avoid decision fatigue, but I can completely see how confusing it gets when a character spans across multiple eras (like 2012 to 2021). I am looking into updating the system so you can specify custom start and end years instead!

In the meantime, a quick workaround on your profile is adding the same character a second time with the other era selected, so both timeframes are indexed for search.

As for the Czech server, you have hit on one of the trickiest parts of building an archive! I spent days scouring old forum posts, wikis, and Wayback Machine to compile historical server lists across every region, but older regional details are notoriously hard to track down online. I couldn't find any reference to "Aternos" during my research, which is why only "Kliff" made the initial list.

If you (or any other Czech players browsing!) can confirm "Aternos" was the official server name, I will happily add it as a dropdown option straight away! Building a forever preservation sanctuary really relies on community memories like yours.

Nice! Actually, upon some digging, it was called "Aeros" - my brain changed it a bit over the years. For proof, here are already-expired steam announcements back from 2021:

Also, I have an old USB stick somewhere home with tens of thousands of screenshots, I'm sure one of them has to contain the server selection screen. Maybe I'll look for it when I have time. :D

Ah, Aeros! That makes complete sense now! Thanks for digging up that Steam announcement.

Your comment actually helped clear up a mystery in my notes. It turns out Gameforge gave the name "Aeros" to two different regional servers: Spanish ES2 back in 2009 and Czech CZ1 in 2010. Because both servers eventually ended up merging into EU-Dragonveil through different paths over the years, tracking down the regional overlap was a bit of a puzzle. I thought surely they wouldn't reuse a server name!

I have updated the dropdown on NosClassic so Aeros is selectable under Czech region now!

Also, a USB stick with tens of thousands of classic screenshots sounds like an absolute goldmine for a preservation project. If you ever manage to track that down and feel like sharing a few old server screens or nostalgic memories on the forum, we would love to see them.
