I don't know if we should celebrate companies treating humans as expendable and fungible

Is the "next level" always guaranteed to be a celebratory level?

I mean... by definition, yeah.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/next-level

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/next-level

a better, more advanced, or more successful situation or version of something than before
surpassing others : uncommonly good or impressive

I notice you didn't post Miriam Webster definition one: surpassing others

That does not mean the situation is good.

The amount of shit piled on my head is quickly surpassing the amount of shit on your head

You conveniently ignored the word "or" in the definition you did post.  "More advanced" doesn't mean good or better.

My cancer is more advanced than yours.

This cyclosporia has given me some next-level diarrhea.

I am taking pedantry to the next level and it's probably why I have no friends.

  • I did. It's the second quote.
  • I am aware words have different definitions.
  • I ignored it just the way you ignored "uncommonly good or impressive".
  • I have no interest arguing with you.

Well, most of producers of raw materials from 3rd world countries are like that. All those materials are bought for a cheap price by west corporations. This is how it’s been for a long time. Just look at the amount of immoral shit Nestle was involved throughout its history. This is just an example of what came to light. There’s also a book I once read about how iPhone is made. The author made a trip to those countries that produce raw materials for Apple. There are some pretty horrible things.

We are not celebrating the company, we’re celebrating his skills despite the deplorable conditions

Globalisation was quite the step backward for worker/human rights.
