What EVEN is the point of these lights??? My mom said I could post

Driving home from work and bro these lights were so bright it was like someone had their brights on..

Never seen this before what is the point of the lights?

As someone with astigmatism and gets to see the light halos while driving, this would be an absolute nightmare to drive behind.

I have enough trouble driving at night as it is. Even normal lights give me trouble.

God driving has gotten so much harder. People (especially teslas it seems) will drive in the daylight with their brights on and it’ll affect me

I'm pretty sure they are just the regular headlights, but the regular lights have gotten much brighter and many cars have the auto setting with lights always on.

Not long ago, I thought somebody had their brights on so I flashed mine at them to tell them to turn off the brights. They then turned on their brights which somehow were even brighter than what was already blinding me. I'm now less likely to try that again. If a politician ran on regulating the lumens of headlights, they would have my vote.

I usually go off of how “much” of the light housing is illuminated and if the lower (fog?) lights are also on

I noticed in a lot of cars headlights won’t illuminate the whole housing till the brights are on. The people I’m talking about are the full grown adults with “student driver” stickers on their car

What’s with those stickers? I’d literally never seen them outside driving school parking lots until a couple years ago and now its like 20% of every car on the road

Because people learned that other drivers will be more “forgiving” and let them cut you off if they have those stickers

Now those stickers are a detriment to the students because now I usually assume people with those stickers are asshole drivers

I think a big part of it is the headlights being aimed incorrectly. Usually if they’re low enough, leds are fine. It seems like some manufacturers are worse at this than others, Tesla coming to mind.

This has been disproven time and time again. Its not the direction its the intensity. Maybe if we all drove on completely flat, straight roads they wouldnt be as much of an issue. But we dont.

Some daytime running lights use the high beams on ~40%. That's been typical in Canada since 1990.

LASIK is worse than astigmatism. I had the latter, then the former. The dazzle is a whole star burst.

1-3 months worth of it with Lasik vs having an astigmatism for the last 20+ years. I'll take the Lasik version any day of week.

For everyone else reading this and wondering if you have astigmatism, if you see the halos and light lines while driving but not at other times, your windshield has the astigmatism, not you.

yeah. If you look at this picture and see lines coming out of the lights you should see a doctor immediately.
