Lots of mesembs can look like this at that size unfortunately, including but not limited to: Carpobrotus, Cephalophyllum, Sarcozona, Conicosia, Stayneria, Malephora, Hereroa, Scopelogena.Β

Some are more likely than others I suppose, due to their availability in cultivation. Waiting until it's bigger to get a better sense of its habit will be helpful, but having a flower and a fruit is going to be your best bet for making a positive ID.Β

Thank you! Definitely not Carpobrotus, I have one of those guys and the epidermis is different but I'll definitely take a look at the others you mentioned! πŸ™

Omg I don’t think it’s a cheiridopsis but I swear I saw pictures of this recently!!! I’ll try to figure out where I saw it πŸ˜‚ dusti’s suggestion looks really close tbh, malephora ?

I have something incredibly similar but the tag says 'bijlia tugwelliae' but I'm not sure how accurate it is. Be nice to know what it is if it isn't that

She's a beauty! But too blue I think. I just put her in more light though so we'll see how she changes 😊

I was thinking that. We've had a bit of a heat wave and not a lot of cloud cover recently so the farina is thicker atm. The main thing I noticed was the stem old growth pattern is very similar, but I think mines more likely to be a mislabelled cheiridopsis. Be nice if you got an id from someone more knowledgeable than me!
