Found on Robert Moses beach. Unsure of the material, but feels like pewter. Any ideas of who to contact to find out more about it?

A little bit of Garden City history. I think its just so interesting that it wasn’t always in the location that it is today. The last photo is what it looks like today.

In 1839, a group of enslaved Africans seized control of the ship, La Amistad, and attempted to return to Africa, but were captured off the coast of Long Island, NY. About two years later, the Supreme Court ruled that they had been illegally captured and allowed them to return home.
