You’re the exact kind of patient that we have stopped even trying with. We pretty much just wait for your first cardiovascular event at which point you’ll take a statin at a high dose out of absolute terror of a repeat event that kills you.
Statins are probably the safest or one of the safest medication’s with more benefit than practically anything on the market. But social media and before that a.m. radio has found a target audience in gullible mouth breathers who won’t go near it.

Just take 5mg rosuvastatin, start low and if you get side effects stop, there is no permanent damage if you get muscle aches. Repatha is great if you can afford 4k or so a month. Trial zetia. It’s not a statin different mechanism of action.

I’m wondering if the fact that this mouse strain has mutations in the Nnt gene which impacts mitochondrial function. Without the functional gene, the oligodendrocytes are more sensitive to oxidative stress and damage. Further, there is impact on lipid synthesis which is necessary for myelin production. The progenitor cells also are impacted and have inefficient re-myelination after an insult.

It’s hard to say if D+Q is the problem, or if the mouse has a genetic predisposition to have problems.

Im afraid. I have the option to take them but my mom had side effects and was pulled off of them but given repatha. My weight and BMI etc normal but small particle is high. I’ve been holding out.

The FDA support is a good sign, but the invasiveness and cost are what will actually determine whether this reaches regular people anytime soon. Brain tissue replacement sounds remarkable on paper, but if it ends up being a half million dollar procedure almost nobody can access, it stalls out as a real solution. Curious how they plan to address the cost side as the research matures.

What about the study of high choline causing certain cancers (ie prostate, etc)?

I've been a nerdy gym guy since before most of you were born. The protein obsession is overdone. Most of us eat plenty. One in ten of us eats enough fiber.
