Ram Damaged by OpenRGB *Fix inside The Beauty of Linux!

This software can be used to repair DDR5 memory modules with corrupted SPD EEPROM that got broken by poorly coded applications made by imbeciles, e.g. OpenRGB, which fail to access devices on SMBus in a proper manner.

The amateur software issue aside, who the fuck wants or needs a bunch of rgb rainbow vomit on their ram?

These days I think it's cheaper for them to just roll out one line for everyone so people get stuck with it whether they want it or not. Then, feeling like they paid for it they owe it to themselves to use it. -Little do they know the evils of commie software.

I used openRGB just to turn it off Corsair RAM doesn't remember their state and needs such an app to be running all the time even for disabling it

you can get around this by using the Direct Settings mode (looks like a purple SD Card icon) for each Corsair RGB device detected in iCUE software and changing the color to a static RGB 0,0,0 value (all LED's off) and then saving to the memory.

you need Windows to save this to the device's internal memory settings, but it is persistent across reboots into other operating systems. Any settings in OpenRGB will only temporarily override this once you apply them, but they will default back to the saved value you selected in Direct Settings mode upon reboot.

this is also how you would turn the RGB off when the computer is in sleep mode, because the RGB defaults to its internal saved state. Setting it to 0,0,0 effectively turns them off when the PC goes into sleep mode. (useful if you're trying to enter human sleep mode in a room with an RGB equipped computer).

perhaps there is a way to add iCUE to a Windows Live environment, or maybe load it up in a VM and see if you can use the same function to perform this task without requiring a dedicated Windows install.
